ok, now that we've established that. here's a new question:

assuming that God made the universe, how do you think he did it?

i personally think that any of teh theories (including the big bang) are POSSIBLE as long as you don't exclude God. because even though the random chance theory leaves us with like a one in a hundred novemdecillion chance of appearing, that chance is plenty for God.

i'm not argueing. i'm just asking how do you think he went about it. because of the (miniscule but still there) evidence for teh big bang, many creationists are adopting he idea that God made the bang.

most radical christians continue to follow genisis litteraly in that "He said that there was light and so is was". this is probably where the "crystal ball" image came from.

Ok before this gets closed were not talking about what god is were talking about how the universe was created... The big bang didnt come from nothing scientist still dont no exactly how it is but heres my theory. Our time isnt the first universe, it isnt the beginning of time. There was a universe like this before us. That universe started from a big bang and galaxys expand away from eachother. But the gravity over comes the expansion and attracts the galaxys toward eachother. The galaxys collide to form a super massive ball of matter. The ball is so dence that it sparks fusion and the ball explodes expelling matter all over the universe. This is our big bang. The matter cools down gathers and forms stars in clusters aka galaxys. It come from nothing thats impossible, because the scientific LAW is no matter or energy can be created or destroyed. There for it didnt appear from nothing and it will never disappear into nothing. It will always be around Forever, one way or another. How is that for a basic answer?

many of the scientific laws are breaking down; the speed of light, the laws of gravity, alot of the laws of physics are being chalenged b/c of phenomena that go against them.

the speed of light is slowing down more and more every year
gravitational anomalies are becoming more and more frequent/ and there was teh discovery of "anti-gravity" that turned the whole thery on it's head.

thats not really on topic but it's just showing that if those laws are being broken, y not the theory of matter? if the law was written after an anomaly that broke it had already dissappeared....


also, the bible's orriginal translation was
"and the earth BECAME void and w/o form"~~genesis 1:1

that implies your theory of a preious universe (or at least a previous earth).

You would be shocked how many religious texts echo of certain aspects of modern science (not just Western religions; Eastern religions as well) ...

Even so, trying to use science to prove religion would be a self defeating venture in this day and age, as they are two diverse (different) things. They may share, to a certain degree, a common objective, but the means are much too different.

In the dawn of Juddaism (first of the evolution of Abrahamic religions like Christianity and Islam) God wasn't really considered omniscient, omnipotent, etc ... he was extremely powerful in all ways, and the most powerful being in the universe, but not all powerful in the sense we generally think of it. He was the only god, but he was not considered an all powerful god.

That has changed - I'm sure most modern Jews now consider God as all-powerful as Christian do.

While I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a Gnostic, Platonist, or Neoplatonist, my thoughts generally revolve around those lines.

I don't exclude the existence of a 'God', but having said that, I tend to think, like all of the above mentioned religions/spiritual philosophies dictate, that our own universe was more of an "accident" or 'subplot' that came into being when the God-figure created a perfect universe.

the orriginal genesis said the world "became" void and without form.

that kinda says that when lucifer fell from heaven he corrupted the universe go had orriginally made.

try looking at it that way. it kinda explains why God would make a world that even had the CAPACITY for sin.

Obviosly if god is so powerful and so perfect he wouldnt let this happen... of all the things happening in the world with so many people dieng god didnt do anything... He could fix everything if he was so powerful.. Obviosly hes not that perfect if he lets all this happen, hes like a kid with a magnifiying glass at an ant farm...

This isint a "Is there a god topic" but i do have to say what sort of LOVING god would allow all the pain and suffer go on in the world.A good example is my aunt who died after battleing cancer for over two years.She wasnt even 50 and had years left in her yet her husband who treated her badly for over 25 years is still fit as a fiddle.

Answer me that.Whats Gods whim here.He likes seeing scum live and good people die.I even know(not in real life but over msn and forums) a 19 year olf girl who has just died after having the all clear from her cancer.Well wheres gods "Love" there.

This is proof that there is no loving god if there is one at all.You dont have to look any further then the six o'clock news to get proof of the pain and suffering in the world and yet people can still preach about God being love and loving all his people.

This is proof enough without even pointing out taht religion has no backing.
