Death Footage, Entertainment Gone Too Far

In the past couple of months I have noticed television is more apt to show violent footage ending in death for entertainment than before. The news has always been the source of the nastiest violence on television but now they are crossing lines by posting links to watch foreign people getting beat to death. This crosses a line. We are all fans of visual culture but when does a desire for entertainment become to much. I think television is wrong to show clips of people being shot or what not to death. They are just wrong.

    What say you!

I suppose those things are pretty bad if faces of children, but its not often when you see that kind of explicit video on the news, yes maybe on certain parts of the web, but those sites usually give a warning of such things and a age content, even on the news they warn you before they show the video or images of such things.

Many of those are fake Manga artist.

An important factor in showing actual footage of people being killed or dead people is how it's presented. You can show the footage, put some tacky generic metal track in the background and have people make fun of the events but you can also show the truth about war and violence without cheapening it or turning it into some reactionary promo.

You mean if your eyes can explode on the electric chair?
    It seems highly unlikely.

Are Americans so entranced by the violence of war that we do find it entertaining. If it is not entertaining someone they would not be showing it. And that is the real problem here, is that it indicates a certain level that we as a nation are lowering to. And yes there are faces of death but you must seek those out yourself. A slight difference between that and television.

I sort of get the agreeement that "hey you those to watch TV. Don't be angry what is on it." I get that arguement and do actually feel that way. And that is with death footage or the nipple incident at the superbowl and what not. My concern is that people consider it so entertaining.
