You bought up a good point there. I saw and read in television programs and magazines that, people in the ‘suicidal mode’ or in depress-ional state can act as the happiest people on earth, but inside they are struggling to decide whether or not they should live. So it can become very hard even for professionals to tell as well.

And as you said, they don’t want to be a burden anymore, so that state of mind drives them a step forward to suicide.

And please, the only people who are coward enough to kill themselves are criminals.

good point about the ciminals, worthlessness is only a small portion. 4 me the main reason was i knew my x would keep me from seeing my son so i decide death was better than agony. underlying issues were; anger, worthlessness, confusion, but most importantly i shouldn't be alive anyway, (according 2 natures laws). suicide isn't always as simple as most think, it's as complex as the person comitting the act

like what Lupas & some others has mentioned about suicide not always being simple/easy or that the person committing such an act is a coward...

I see many people on here saying that it is a coward act, but most of us on here is scared of death & don't want to see the Reaper on their door step... People who noramlly see suicide as an option is afraid of death themselves they just believe death is the meaning of their existence in some cases... And in others believe suicide is their escape from their hell on earth... (And who wouldn't want to escape from hell.??)

They say courage is to face ones' fear... And death is one fear I don't want to face by the will of my own...

I think that suicide is for weak people who can not deal with their problems

^ I'm not saying that I know any better myself. Just that we are not to judge when some one is sick and not in the right state of mind. In some cases of suicide, sure I might agree with you, but making a general statement like that, it's unfair.

Since no one has really stated what type of suicide ( we seem to be leaning towards depression based?) What about Euthenaisa ( excuse my bad spelling). If one is really suffereing that much and they know there is no end to it ( talking terminal illness) is that still selfish? cowerdice?

To die is to die, no matter how you do so. If you're religious than suicide is a big deal, and I believe many of you claim religion << I can understand why you would be offended or interested enough to talk, but others do it just to frown.

I skimmed this, but I'm guessing many said it's selfish, and I agree to a point. Mostly though, I think it's none of our business. Of course the death of a person is a tragedy but they did it on their own terms so we have no right to judge or criticize them.

Protest all you want, you've already judged them without knowing it. Suicide is very frowned upon, so everyone cringes when the subject is present. Those who do should sod off..

But, an opinion. Suicide is a choice, much like being gay or an activist, so we really can't say a thing about it. I neither support nor encourage suicide, I just believe people should let others deal with what they need to alone.

You definetly have a point. It ISN'T our business. But say you had a very close friend or family member, who you KNEW was having some issues with depression and the stress that the harsness of life gives most humans. Pretend that you knew they thought about suicide--or even had a small inkling of knowledge--and they finally do it. Them being so close to you, you cry. You go to thier funeral and everyone there cries. And they're all thinking the same thing you probably would think to if your family or friends killed themselves, "That was f****** selfish!!" Think I'm wrong?

Everybody says that they don't care, or that it's a sin--hell even say it was thier choice--but when push comes to shove, whoever is involved is affected and whoever is involved will--9 times out of 10--think that that person was selfish; because they affected the lives of many. Hell, if my brother offed himself, I'd call him a selfish coward who couldn't see past his nose and couldn't think about anyone but self.
