Difference between Male and females health care?

When I was younger I was visiting at my then current girlfriend’s house who lived with her parents at the time. We where in the living room and a few minutes latter her mother comes in and yells at her that she had a appointment to she her (the mothers) Gynecologist for her first visit. Serfice it to say they argued over it for a few min because she didn’t want to go. At witch point she turns to me and asks if I ever went to a men’s doctor. I did not and told her so. She then tried to use that to get out off going which brings me to my question. Why are girls or Young women practically forced and encouraged to see a Gynecologist and men are not for seeing our equivalent? (Which shows how little it is talked about sine I cant even remember the name to this branch of medicine)

Well i think for a woman its more of a need to go, i really can't say im not a girl.
As for the mens euqivalent... i don't really know if theres such a doctor if there is i have enver heard of it.

i think because in my opinion, women have more needs and care. we have more vtal reproductive organs and we need to make sure everything is ok. my cousin took me there BUT I DIDNT DO NOTHING!! she just showed me what it is like and she went in. i think women have more of a need than men. of my pov.

mean have proctoligist's they detect cancer
in your rectum laugh all you want but its
a serouse thing its the number one killer
of guys spike tv promotes this 100% there
are sevral dr.s you can get certain check ups
from its not talked about much for guys but
guys dies from testiculer cancer and rectal cancer
than any other kind of sickness.

yea they promoted big time a few months ago
having some kind of contest for guys who got a check up
where they they guy would win something.

Because male and female have different hormones...
therefore, we have different health care products that contains different chemicals. the female might not be strong enough to withstand pills taken by men.

well... I guess girls are more sensitive in that part of the human body than men... since women develop earlyer than men.. it might have somethin to do with that...
as for the mens's doctor... for what I heard... we are supose to start going to check ups since we are in our 40s or 50s... not sure... thats what I heard..... but what I hear they do... o.O sounded a lil disturbing...

When it comes to health there really shouldn't be any difference between males and females. Especially with sumthing as important as a persons health.

I guess the reason why women are almost forced to go might be due to the fact they are still being seen as "vulnerable"......well actually i don't think it's really that, prehaps it's simply because men can be considered "tough and strong" and can "look after themselves". who knows?

Also in the case that Joshua was talking about, maybe it was just the mum being protective and concerned for her daughters health?
I hate it when anyone forces me to go to the doctor or any health professional. If we women think that there is something wrong with us, then we shall go, we don't need to be told..well in some cases anyways

ok this is what i know about this subject.

i believe women go to these Gynecologist or whatever its called because of the risk that young women have of developing ceivex cancer (i know its spelt wrong). i only know this cause my mum is a nurse or something and tells me stuff i don't want to know.

and yes i do believe that they have the equivalent type of doctor for men as well. except i don't think many ppl know about it. and since men don't talk about their health alot, and its not well known. we usualy are oblevious to the risk men have also, and believe it or not men have a risk of developing prostate cancer. although u can get it removed there is a great risk or men losing there so called "man hood". and to detect this cancer i think the go into ur "rectum" which HolderOfTheDarkChalice stated. but i think men in there 40's and 50's onwards have a greater risk of developing this cancer. so thx god i wont be having anything stuck my rectum any time soon.

i'll have to agree with everything gwenibe's said. there shouldn't be any difference between males and females when it comes to health.

according to the way my parents think, they believe that females are more at risk when it comes to diseases and such, and they also believe that males are more stronger and tougher, like gwenibe said. i guess this could be labelled as being sexist, but in the end, my parents are just concerned about my health. so in joshua's case, i think it was just the mother being concerned about her daughter's health.

i also hate it when someone pushes me to see a doctor or health professional. if i think there's something wrong with me, then i'll go see a doctor or something. i don't need to be told what to do when it comes to my own body.
