![]() Abomination | Re: Do you learn anything? At school all things we learn eventually go away but once you keep on doign them it will eventually come back. Although we do learn and cram for tests our short memories will only last for the test if we cram Thats why there are grades. Each one reviews each and grows on it until you go to university which growns on everything you know. Thats why staying in one school is the best so you follow the school and not go at diffrent paces. I recently changed school and they go way to fast for me. im failing french and harmony{musical theory} You should also go to the university that the school suggests for your ablilty. |

Shichibukai | Re: Do you learn anything? I know for a fact that schools in some countries forces you to research for information instead of the teacher telling you everything and the reverse in other countries.I don't think that school is just about getting high grades and things like that, but mainly to prepare for the challenges that the outside world as i have already mentioned but mentioning it again just to prove my point. |

![]() Diamond in the Rough | Re: Do you learn anything? It really depends on the students and their values and hopes for future. A person who would be more than happy working in McDonalds or a gas station for the rest of their life (no offense to those that do) could care less if they learned anything or not. Others who dream of becoming lawyers and doctors hold themselves to a higher standard and take the opportunity to learn. I have learned a lot even though some classes were really boring.

| The Bad Guy | Re: Do you learn anything? Almost everything that you are taught is public school will be of use to someone. Not everyone know what to do with their life in their junior year. Maybe the bio or the chem or comp may come in handy for them. K-12 is just to build an educational foundation for what you will want to learn. All the other stuff you learn... well just call it a bonus. Quote:

Newbie | Re: Do you learn anything? i never learnt anything from my school [esp. high school]. more than 15 subjects [u don't want to know..] and all of them must more than 7.5 [pass grade] but in my program [ i took science] it's 8.0 and it's hard for me to keep up my school's pass grades bcoz outside school i've another activity most in music and sport. i feel weary and it become worse when i enroll to my present high school. it's neither national high school nor int'l high school. it's in the middle called national plus.the only gud thing happen in my daily mundane high school is my friends. and i think it's true that not only brain makes you success but your personality, how to socialize with other ppl. and i can guarantee, never, all what u've got in high school [college or even univ.] will be 100% used in your real life. that's why i stop my high school and enroll to homeschool program and..hey...it's better and more fun.. |

![]() Otaku | Re: Do you learn anything? I learned stuff up until the 8th grade. Then things seem to really repeat themselves. I've learned new stuff in math and science since, but nothing really in anything else. I think it just gets pointless after a point for some people. Schools is so boring anyway. ^_^

![]() Credits: 17,113 | It depends 50% on the student and the pther 50% on the teacher. Explanation: the metodology of teaching can be so boring that the student losses interest on the class, therefore the student puts no effort in really learning. The "study" become just an interest just to "pass" the class but not paying attention if "I am learning" because the class is so boring that there is no motivation for learning. On the other hand, if the student just does not want to learn -just because he/she does not have interest itself- the methodology of the teacher can be the best and the student can be yet not learning. It depends as I said in how the professor teaches the class and how interested the student really is to learn. As in my case, i have had professors whose teachings remain in my memory and I still apply the information to my life. Nevertheless, I also have had professors whose teachings I really don't remember and I really do not care.
