Does TV brain wash people?

For some reason evey time i see a McDonalds commercial i want a BigMac.Do you think TV is brain washing people with all this consumerism?Or is this world just jumping on the band wagon of what people do and look like on TV?Boob jobs, face lifts slowly makeing people look perfect like every one on TV why is this?Am i the only one that thinks of TV this way?

no you're not the only one. i'm sure the "idiot box" does brainwash people ... like ads, weird programs and all that affect the way of your thinking and sometimes your behaviour

TV does control our lives but I am not complaining. Without it we wouldn't know what to do.

can you explain why people would spend thousands of dollars on yu-gi-oh cards?
or why there is a mcdonalds and a wal-mart in every country on the planet?

it is called subliminal advertising wal-mart use to play a song over the intercom that secretly said "you are a good shopper good shoppers dont steal" and they ended up getting sued for it
I myself think this is scary for those who cant see it or hear it

yup so true ... little kids spend so much money on anime cards and games sometimes it's scary >_<
and about mc.donalds and such companies, they are spread all over the place ... and spreading even more because they advertise themselves 1000 times a week ><

yes id dose influence but it dosint controll are lives. if u wach to mouch of one thing u might think its real and stuff but i dosint tell u what to do

Ah? I rarely watch TV for that very reason. Then again, even if I were to watch TV, I am the charioteer of my mind, so I don't get mesmerized and brain washed by them TV commercials. But, I agree with you, LC. It is very sad to see a lot of kiddies fall into those traps like falling ducks. Haha. It also follows the phrase: Do in Rome as Romans do. If one kid sees that another has a PS2...he will fry his parents to death until he gets on his hands. Haha. All I have to say is: Grow up my little fellows and control your mind. No, I am not a hypocrite!
