Judging from the action of your teacher, looks like you are underage. It depends on your teacher on what he thinks porn is.

Anyways, if you think porn like how we commonly know it (nudity, sex) is "bad" then you might think this "ecchi" thing is too. Since I'm a guy, I don't find anything wrong with it. Theres no sex but sexual reference, like Love Hina, High school girls, girl bravo etc.

Well ecchi to an American might look bad, I don't see many Americans looking at it like Japanese people do. I wouldn't call it porn but I would confiscate it. It depends on how uptight your teacher is I guess.

People who don't know anime think its all Porn(Especially Americans). Should have told you teacher you see worse thing on TV. I don't think theres nothing wrong with ecchi. I love it. Ecchi isn't about sex like Hentai. Its just like a PG-13 movie, where hentai is Rated R or Rated X. Depending on the series. You would have been smart to just leave the comic at home.

Well your teacher was doing what he thought was the right thing to do. It would had been worse if an administrator had been the one confiscating you the manga book. I don't see anything wrong with ecchi. In fact, i think ecchi can be funny and interesting depending on how you interpret the meaning of the word echhi itself.

It is not meant to be bad in general.But there are people that have the wrong impression of the word and thus making it sound bad.Those people think that cartoon is porn,but cartoon is not about porn.It is an art which expresses words.It is because there are people who manipulated cartoons for the wrong reasons that make some people believe anything that is cartoon,including the word "ecchi"is bad.But in general,it isn't bad if you don't focus your attention on the drawing of girls.

But it could be to some people. Everyone has their own limits and ideas of what constitutes as a "no-no".

I am also curious if your teacher gave it back to you or your family... Isn't it stealing if he refused?
Anyways, it would be best to keep that kind of stuff out of the "American" school system. Unfortunately, people haven't been very tolerant of outside forces in this country, especially in the governmental system. I suppose that they're all connected at some point and plotting conspiracy to get rid of all anime deeming it "porn" or something like that.
But thank goodness for freedoms that this country bestows upon us.

I happen to like it cause it is bad. It just makes me feel naughty on the inside.

Porn is hard to define he did give it bad so he was fair mabye it was bad to him because he has a diff. definition of porn, my defininntion is full frontal nudity but whatever

Sooo, did he read it? He must of read it to make sure it was appropriate enough to give it back to you. If it was a real porn, I don't think he would give it back.
