Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

Personally i think its a good idea, but then again its a violation of free speech. I doubt they will remove the cuss words, would probably hurt sales. We dont wanna do that.

i personally enjoy all tyoes of music and hiphop is one of them. i thinkthat it is a right of freedom of speech to say what you will...if you dont like it then dont listen you know? it's in the bill of rights and the 1st amendment...freedom to say whtever you want without violating others rights...

Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

I belive this is a fine idea. Too many kids are cussing these days. And what better way to help keep it on the DL than by eliminating such words from songs that those very same kids listen to? So then the only reasons kids would be cussing for is by listening and learning from their parents, and/or friends. Granted, some songs will still have cuss words in them, but rap songs just take that far beyond the limit.

Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

Ha you don't need to get rid curse words in rap what you need is more cursing so your kids well start cursing like sailors now thats a idea I gree with,I'm just kidding but it would be hard to remove curse words or sick twisted lyices in rap which seem to sell because people just like it.

Please do reply.

Wink Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

I'd say is a good idea. Today the kids are learing so much cuss words from very early ages and one of the big influences is the music. But I'd say not just rap but any gender.... But the cont of that tho, mirokku just said it... the sales would go down... even if we like it or not... ppl like songs and lyrics with cuss words included.... it is sad.... but that's business and commerce...

Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

I wouldn't care, personally. I like rap and hip-hop (yes, there's a difference), but I don't think that there should be so much swearing in it. Don't get me wrong, I cuss--from time to time--but not all the time. I wouldn't say cut it out; but I'd say cut it down.

Rappers should find other words to express themselves besides using four letter expletives. I consider some rap/hip-hop as poetry, and a good poet goes only as far as his/her vocabulary will let them.

Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

yeah i think they should do that, because it would help little kids not to swear in front of adults at anytime. this would be a lesson to the rappers out there that like to cuss and let little kids (i.e.: the ones in elementary school, middle school and high school) not cuss at all.

Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

im just pointing out that rap are made by people who think they are gangster ( american ones anyways) and this is the way that they talk and to them this is poetry. it's street poetry so like we can't stop the cussing nessicarly if its in s good context but i it isn't then its worthless

Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

What they should do is take off that. "I'll take your kids away if you beat them"

When I cursed when I was a kid, my mother would take a nice bar of soap to my mouth.

>O< THE HORROR!

They can do as they please I mean really, "New" things will be made to get around it. (....()

Like always for each generations. I don't believe you should fix everything in life.. Speak your mind!

Re: Eliminating curse words from rap?

well, i don't think it's a violation of free speech, since it's imposed by the people themselves and not the government.

i suppose it's good that they're taking a higher road, it's their art and their way of expressing themselves... if they want to change it, then hazaa for them!

hazaa i say!
hazaa!
