    Re: Euthanasia

I have never thought that the taking of one's life either by one's self or by a willfully allowed other is acceptable however if I were in such an amount of physical pain and did not want to be a "vegetable" then I would have to say it is understandable but I will not agree it is acceptable.

    Re: Euthanasia

that seems fair, i mean if they're right about to die and have no last requests it's definately okay in my opinion. if they're just old, then no, but if they don't want to live any longer, i can't really give an opinion. i'd rather suffer through my old aged problems instead of being killed quickly, but that's just my opinion...

i believe it isnt an act of murder but rather an act of mercy, eunthanasia stops suffering and it's better that way, rather than living for a longer time but have to suffer...

    Re: Euthanasia

well, i've stated my opinions on this during a class discussion... i think euthanasia will only be reasonable is the family agrees on it, or the person himself, if possible... it's the only way to end that person's suffering... it doesn't feel great if you're hanging on for your life, surely...

They say you can't use oversized signatures here on AO.

Check out the movie SOYLENT GREEN. Classic sci-fi. An interesting view of euthanasia is presented in that film.

Well, if a doctor tells me I am infected with smallpox and there is no cure, I pull my pistol out of my desk drawer and ask you to leave the room.

I was just thinking the same thing...I know if that were me I would want doctors to end my life too...yep I've already told my relatives that if I'm ever in a vegetive state that doctors knew I would never recover of they have my permission to pull the plug...
If they really had a desire to live, they would've been more aware of how easy it is to die.

^_^ well, I agree that we should let nature take its course...
However, in one way, we humans can be considered a part of nature despite our chaotic actions... actually, we should be considered part of nature BECAUSE of our chaotic actions... afterall, nature isn't organized. ^_^

    ... anyways...

But... if the person refuses life, and never wishes to continue it... it would be horrible if we let "nature take its course" in their way: In other words, starve to death.

Sometimes, they don't have a say in it... or, they just can't have a say in it.

........ but I know, if I was suffering, I'd try harder and harder to live one more day... it may hurt so much... but if my darling is still here, I want to live for her... I don't care if it hurts, I would like to see her smile one more time. And again. And again. And keep smiling...

... I believe Euthanasia is one way to think of things... and one way to do things... we can take one course of action or the other. I will not stop someone if they really wish to end their life, but... I despise those who give up...

...never give up... life is always great, no matter what the circumstances.
