In my mind that makes it a risk and a wrong somewhat. That doesn't make a lot of
sense. But somehow when your punished for what you do it feels wrong.
Our love will go on until the end of time. I will always be yours and you will be mine.

As long as there is a governing power, freedom of speech can never exist. As long as there are rules, there will always be one broken and justified with "freedom of speech."
To have freedom of speech, you need to take responsibility for what you say and be prepared for the consequences, just as Aceman said. You can't just go around spewing out slander. You need to at least be prepared for what happens after you make your speech, as well as making sure the speech won't break any of the laws that our government has set forth.
So as said previously, so long as there is a governing power, freedom of speech can never exist.
Why hello there!

To NevesElocin.
Actualy it makes sense, its very simple really, one has consiquences, one does not. But you can still say what ever you want.
To NeoDeath90
There will be consiquences regardless if there is a governing power. Lets say there is no Gov. and we live in complete anarchy. I can go up to some one and say "Hey I think you are a complete d*ck head and a punk ass in the way you treat people." Which is freedome of speech, how ever, the consiquence to that would be that the other guy would most likely smash my face in.
"MY DEAR... I GIVE YOU THE CAPELLAN CONFEDERATION"AND THUS THE WAR WAS STARTED NOT BY GUN SHOT BUT BY WEDDING BELLS
Freedom of Speach is nothing, but a pipedream. from the start, social culture and Religion automatically decided what was 'right' for people to say and what wasn't. Now, with all these Damned Political Correctness Nazi's roming the streets it's impossible to say what you really think and not be prosecuted for having a opinion whether it socially acceptable or not!
I got in trouble in school for say a 'Blackboard' rather than 'Chalkboard'. I then got a weeks detention for going into a rant and then telling the teacher that he could shove his ethnic minority hughed pen where the sun don't shine.![]()
Baldrick, you wouldn't see a subtle plan if it painted itself purple and danced naked on top of a Harpsichord sining "Subtle plans are here again!"
Ohh that one backfired, but hey, freedom of speeach isnt always what it is made out to be, they say its freedom, but others go aginst what others say, and its not freedom, because there will always be some one who will tell you that you are worng. and so on lol
I tryed to see things from your point of view but i cant seem to get my head that far up my ass!

You make a good point, NeoDeath90. Having a government in charge of how we live and what we are allowed to do is not what I would call "freedom." In fact, it's kind of a misnomer or paradox when it comes to defining the actual rights that's given to us. We are not always as free as some people might believe. Technically, the idea of "freedom of speech" has its limits. I mean I remember on the news when President Bush was visting a school, there was a bus driver that flipped the bird at him and got fired. If we have freedom of expression, then there would not have been a punishment. I also could be wrong because of other things to consider like moral standards.
Yes we can take away your right to say it. We can take away the right to say anything on Animeonline. Animeonline is a privatly owned website. You have the ablity to say things on it because the owners and staff give you that privilage to do so. And it can be taken away.
Let me put it this way: Counting cards when playing black jack is not an illegal practice and is officially not concidered cheating. That being said, casino's shouldn't be able remove people for it, yet they do anyways. Why? Because a casino is not a public place and the casino has the right to choose who they allow to play in said casino.
You couldn't be more wrong. Every freedom comes with a price. The price for Freedom of speech is taking responsablity for what you say. If you can't take responsablity for what you say, keep your mouth shut.
An example: A guy walks up to me and says something about my mother that, well, isn't very nice. He has the freedom to say that, but that freedom doesn't stop me from Punching him in the face for it.
And Peach, you know damn well that you do not have the right to say what ever the hell you want on this website. Your diciplinary history should stand testiment to that.

I don't think my history here is sooo bad. I've gotten slaps on the hand for posting certain things... But you better believe I got my point across. My posts said exactly what I wanted them to say, and were read by exactly who I wanted to read them. I've even been lucky enough to debate my way into getting an infraction reversed when I felt it to be unjust. Most of the time, I KNEW the mods would eventually punish me. I was just willing to risk it. Mods still couldn't stop me from posting.
Here on AO you can only infract somone or ban them AFTER they have already posted!!
So the deed was done. The words were said. YOU COULD NOT PREVENT IT. Even if the post was deleted, someone saw it. Someone was impacted by it. Even if the only one to see it was the Mod who deleted it... the post was successful in gainging their attention. That qualifies as freedom of speech in my opinion...... And while banning prevents that account from being used (again)... it doesn't stop the same person from making another account.
If you punch a guy in the face for talking about your mom... Did you stop him from talking about your mom? Nooo..... by giving him a reaction you gave him what he was after. Attention. So not only did he say what he wanted.... he pissed you off just the way he wanted. So... he more than successfully exercised his right to free speech.
Well I CAN take responsibility, so my mouth can run like the Mississippi. If you can't take responsablity for what you say, keep your mouth shut.
Gees Ace, I'm begining to think that it bothers you that you can not take away my right to free speech. Whats up with that?
