well I see no real reason to play with the GS myself, that is only because I gain the great joy when I am challenged, this is because I like challenges, I have played drakengard and drakengard 2 without them and it was interesting and easy same with PN 03, I am not saying I dont use the GS, I have used them but I dont depend on it, I like the challenges, however I have used it on Pokemon, but like I said, I dont really depend on it like my friends do sometimes. I dont even own one!

Personally i hate game shark......But anyway

If some one uses Game Shark so be it, thats there way of playing a game.Each person has there own little way of playing there games .To cheat and use Game Shark is one of these ways, those kinda people enjoy it more or just don't want to take the time to play threw it.Granted its not the best way to play a game as many would say,But in any case at least they enjoy the game in the end is all that matters.

For me i have cheated a few times before, but i rather go at the game and play threw with out cheating if necessary but if i come to a part that is to hard i may cheat to get passed it or ill step away from the game and move on to some thing else.Which works pretty well for me and i get the satisfaction beating it if i come back to play it and beat it with out cheats.

Usually, I beat a game first 'fore I use any cheat devices. But considerin' that I'm not as coordinated as I used ta b, I find myself usin' them more often. I don' think that makes me any less of a gamer, it jus' means that I need a little more help than most. That's jus' one of the side effects of chemotherpy, u lose coordination. That's why I had ta sell my car, 'cause it was a standard. My gamin' skills get effected too and they're not so sharp anymore. So when I play a game that's tough and I get inta a bind, I usually use a cheat device ta help me out. Otherwise, I usually wait 'til I beat the game first.

Your not any less of a gamer if you use a game shark. A gamer is one who enjoys games, last I checked any way. Just because you use a game shark doesn't make you any less of a gamer - your still playing games. Just because you play games differently doesn't make you any less or a gamer either.

I've only used a gameshark once on an emulator for one game on GBA and haven't used it since. Not because I hated it or anything, I just moved on to console gaming instead of emulation ^^; and I can't find a game shark for that where I am. I do find it more fun not to use cheats, but I bet if I got to a hard or frustrating part of a game, I would use cheats if I could lol. Though that's how I game. When I sit down for a game the story is everything. So so long as I'm still getting the good story in a game, who really cares about cheating?

To be a gamer one needs only to play games. To be a respectable gamer however, leave the shark alone. Trying to make a game you have thoroughly explored more lively is the only reason to use one.

I honestly think a true gamer shouldn't use cheats in a game.
It takes almost all the fun out of the game.
A true gamer should wait until after their first playthrough (in my opinion)

People enjoy games in different ways, so using a Game shark and cheating is perfectly viable. It doesn't make you any less of a gamer, the same way there isn't any difference between someone who plays a game on insane difficulty compared to someone who plays on easy.

Some random things of note:

Sometimes the computer cheats, so cheating might even the odds a bit. (Puzzle Quest AI cheats horribly...)

Alone in the Dark 5 will apparently include a feature that allows people to skip the hard parts of the game if they want to. Link here. Developers give people tools to cheat a lot of times, so I don't think there is any reason to call someone who does so "not a gamer". They just enjoy the game a different way.

In my opinion, a real gamer is a person who finished the game without cheats whatsoever, on any diffucility. but i think cheats are for people who feel lazy to do it the hard way.

Well a true gamer would beat the game first then use it only a cheater uses a game shark to beat a game thats what i do i have a game shark and i beat the game first and for fun and just to fool around i play the game over again and use the game shark making me really high up and just enjoy.

I agree why would anyone want to cheat to win, Gungrave i think i basically do what you do, except in high competiton areas such as the animeonline arcade...i know hundereds of cheats on games in their but i choose to play fairly...well occasionally but how do you think i got 4th in the world on my ps3, kick ass hard work thats how.
