And that's why you don't talk to strangers! especially old creepy people.

But obviously gamers are NOT bad people. Usually they're nicer people IMO. but theirs going to be smack-talkers in just about every group anyways. Just sounds like the old man doesn't want kids playing video games all day, or he's just very anti-technology XD

this is a lie i am a gamer myself i love to play video games but you know what i do have a life outside of it.

i do track for school. and i hang out with friends. and i am preparing for college so he is just an old geezer that just doesn't want to face reality that you can be gamer and still have a life.

Well, I think there is very much still a stereotype that gamers are socially inept neanderthalls packed away in their mother's basement pushing random buttons that cause the screen to flash really shiny-like. People assume this, then take it one step further and assume everyone who does so is infinately lazy, then take it another step, and assume they are all bums who contribute nothing meaningful to society.

Then there is the debate that games like Grand Theft Auto cause violent behavior, making gamers bad people who are influenced by this medium. There was a recent debacle about the game Bully promoting and glorifying bullying, when in fact, that was not in any way a theme in the game, it was judged by the title. Gaming still isn't really an accepted medium I think when compared to movies and books because of stuff like this. As such, I think the players themselves come under attack a lot based off these presumptions.

Video games don't craft bad people in the same way movies don't craft bad people. It's media, not mind control.

You have a choice between good,or evil. The same way in what games you play. It doesnt necissarily mean that whoever plays GTA is a bad person.

1. What were you wearing?
2. How did you look (other than clothes)?

What was I wearing? Um...clothes lol. No I was wearing my Fire Department uniform. It Has a skull wearing a fire helmet on the back. I also was wearing my Youth Fire Squad Leader badge.
How did I look? I had gotten a haircut that morning. And my hair was combed. Everybody in the Volunteer Fire Dept. Youth Squads have to have combed hair. its called "regulation".
Did I have a bad posture or was I sitting on the ground? Nope. I was standing. You cant sit in these uniforms.
And was he crazy? Maybe he was. He looked crazy... Maybe he just hated gamers. He probably thought that all gamers would be criminals someday.

I say no, Gamers are not bad people.
Some may be "brainwashed" so to speak by games, but in the end it's their own decision to do what they do.
I'm not a bad person. I contribute to community service and help people. seriously.
I've never hurt a person without reason before. Does hurting someone at all make them bad?
I'll end with this. If gamers are bad, then what are the people who actually do the things such as drugs, gangs and killing? Satan's Children?

This story sounds fake like alot of people have been saying. Would you like me to explain why? Because an 80 year old man doesn't have the vocabulary of a 13 year old boy for christ sakes.

Im not lying. im 14 btw. This thread is not about me. and this guy was in his 60's. I am merely using the argument I had with this guy as an example.
