Geeks and Anime

I recently heard some jackass that said that everyone he knew that watched anime was a geek. What do you think about this? Would you classify yourselves as geeks, or do you think that people that think that are ignorant?

Sure why not? If it's used a lot, why not? No reason for me to get offended.......
But some on the outside are really ignorant.........

i wouldnt consider all people who like anime geeks, but everyone ive met in real life besides my cousin and myself are geeks......................so this dude has probably only met a few people and is correct in his statement

Hahaha, I know very few geeks that like anime. But I'm no geek, I'm actually really well liked and popular in school. I just enjoy anime and my Japanese heritage.

...........I was liked too, and was more known for being a Juggalo than an Anime geek........but we all know better.....

A common stereotype.

I am not classified by those around me as a geek, but I do watch a lot of anime in my free time. Even my entire family watches anime. And, I also do know those who are classified by others as geeks, who dwell on doing things other than anime.

I love geeky glasses, however. I have a pair! ^_^

i am no geek! *pushes up glasses*lol no i don't think i'm a geek.....i just love anime and nobody cares they either like me or they don't.i don't consider anyone who likes/loves anime a geek.

the only reason they say that is because they dont understand and dont know how to read it the right way so they're jealous. I used to say that until my friend showed me Neon Genisis Evangilion(srry if spelt wrong) and then i totally changed my idea about anime and started reading alot.;
