Thread: Geeks and Anime

I'm watching anime and read manga. And a lot people called me geek.
But,I don't care. Because I believe majority isn't always right.
I will live at my own style. I don't need to always hear and do anything that majority told me.

Exactly. Everyone is an individual, and to group people into categories simply because of your initial perceptions of them is just plain wrong.

I do call myself an otaku, but I am well aware of what that means to a lot of people. I don't actually consider myself a 'nerd' or 'geek' of any kind.

I don't know about the rest of you but I enjoy being called a geek..
I pride myself in it...
I even have a t shirt that says so...
Being a geek is far better than being fake...

Exactly. It's nothing to be ashamed of you should even be proud of it.

Most of the time people label others when they don't understand or don't know squat about someone. So it's not a big deal for me..

I'm mostly called a geek because of my skill with PCs but it doesn't bother me at all. I love being called a geek. All my friends are geeks, the best thing is that no geek is really the same, except maybe for the love of anime or PCs or whatever. Each one of my friends has a very different personalitie, from perverts to bookworms.

I haven't been called a geek at school for liking anime, or for anything else. [[gosh, that sounded concitied]]

I don't know anyone that has been called one, if they were I never heard it.
Surpisingly alot of people at my school actually like it, they just don't express to others that they like it alot, until you finally see them reading a manga book. :P

Personaly, I think that it's very childish & low to call people names. It's very elementary school.
