How does global warming going to effect the rest of the world if we just set back and not do anything, is it really that serious?

Whoa. | Re: Global warming! oh, that's a brilliant idea. Let's put inside the earth instead! Why do I get this feeling this idea will just blow up in our faces in later years? I mean it sounds like a good idea, but I'm kinda skeptical...I mean we'd have to bury it pretty deep for it to not just evaporite back into the air, wouldn't we? I don't know...

This is a slow but obvious problem that the world faces. The problem is definitely serious, but only when speaking in geologic time. Geologic time is spoken in terms of thousands of years. In the long run, yes, this can be an issue, and many industries have taken up the torch to change the way we all live our lives. For example, cars today is progressively moving towards other forms of more environmentally friendly fuel resources, as well as smog regulations have become much tighter than a decade ago. Global warming however is not as serious in the short-run, as these climatical changes take many hundred years to take affect. In short, you will not wake up tomorrow to a gigantic tidal wave or greeted with instant Ice Age, haha. ^_^.

Although i agree we should do all we can to reduce polution it is also possible that this global warming has nothing to do with us. (just to adress the other side of the arguement.......) |

| Newbie | Re: Global warming! Hmmm, what should the rest of the world do... Good question lol. I think it's almost impossible to do something. Almost every country spends money for oil. If we started closing oil companies, I wonder what would happen....

| Newbie | Re: Global warming! Yup, so finding a way to stop global warming is almost impossible, unless people contribute together to boycott things but then, on this side, we will get back to middle ages...

Whoa. | Re: Global warming! this isn't about the fuel issue, it's about global warming, that's the thing. Sure, we're stopping global warming, (maybe) but that's not going to help our decreasing fossil fuels. I don't think the fuel problem will ever be resolved until oil companies pull their heads out of their asses and realize their way of living will cease to exist unless they invest some money into funding research of alternate fuel sources. Even then, how do we really know we're the main cause of global warming? For all we know, this is a natural change. And mother nature always has her way, there's nothing we can do to stop that.
