this isn't about the fuel issue, it's about global warming, that's the thing. Sure, we're stopping global warming, (maybe) but that's not going to help our decreasing fossil fuels. I don't think the fuel problem will ever be resolved until oil companies pull their heads out of their asses and realize their way of living will cease to exist unless they invest some money into funding research of alternate fuel sources.
Even then, how do we really know we're the main cause of global warming? For all we know, this is a natural change. And mother nature always has her way, there's nothing we can do to stop that.

if its mother natures way of doing things
you know thining the population out
does this mean our time is almost up?
i mean the global warming is hurting everyone
and not to meantion the fact that the ozone
layer is making an impact as well

the earth wobbles on its axis, this creates periods of time (roughly 23000 years if i remember corectly) where there is an extreme temperature change(ice age and desert?age) we are heading towards the hot peroid anyway. though we arent helping any by allowing so much airpollution into the air. but also, airpollution is somewhat benificial if yout hink about it. well its more of a double edged sword. a lot of polution creates what is known as the dimming effect, basically a lot of infared rays from the sun (what causes head) is reflected off of these particles and sent back to space, however, these particles keep heat from escaping as well. anyway back on topic, storing co2 will only delay the inevitable. though it will help future generations, its not really accomplishing anything. plus you would be better off shipping it along with all of our trash and toxic waste to space rather than trying to bury it in the earth. eventually the containers that hold the co2 will rupture and the co2 will make its way back up top. plus the further down you go the warmer the temperature gets so the harder it will be to keep the co2 in a liquid state. if its not the temperature its also the pressure. keeping that much pressure for such a long time will wear down the containers as well.
i just dont forsee it helping much if at all
lol the idea sounds kool, but that's not the right solution to it. If we all were to work together to try to minimize air pollution there wouldn't be the need to bury co2.
Ok, so face it, we all live in a time were it is getting hotter, like thedevineshadow said, we're already getting warmer anyways. Burying the carbon Dioxide wont work all that to well, a good way that i can think of to balance the force of the matter would be vent it into an area or gigantic realistic like lab that contains plants and other things that take the co2 and convert it back to oxygen for us. Of course there is probably problems for this too, and probably more costly. But, just because we can't see it, doesn't meen it's not there. Sure they say it will be good for about 1000 years right. What happens then? Kablooie? Probably not, but the amounts we're talking about released at once or gradually, even if we've found other ways of controlling the carbon dioxide by then, it will cause a huge panedemic then. Sure it won't be in our lifetime or that of anyone you might know, unless if your Merlin or something. Instead of finding a way to get rid of it by putting it somewhere else (like in space). We should think about either stopping it (already tried and failed more than likely), or change it into something useful such as Oxygen (dunno if its tried). But aparently 1 tree can convert enough Co2 to O for an entire family or something...and yes...I got that last statistic off TV.

I totally agree. You would think this would be a threat to the Earth as well. I mean it can't be good. I see prophcies about to be fulfilled!!!Originally Posted by Dark.
I'm sorry to say but the things that cause global warming is practically in everything...
Everything from cars, to ovens, to cows, to even the food we eat.
Also, not to mention the factories and machines that make them.
Technology may have sped it up, but how are you going to stop nature?
^_^ Besides, don't you think it's funny how we used to complain about how there'd be another Ice Age (some of you may be too young to remember this), and now we're complaining about Global Warming? XD
