Don't you think the percentages telling whether or not it's gang related or not? In my area about 80% is gang related even though there isn't much graffitti.

Four years ago, my neighbourhood park was covered in vile curses and insults. It stayed up for about two weeks before the city did anything about it. If, however, it had been covered with inspirational sayings or beautiful artwork, I would have fought tooth and nail to keep it up.

I can understand the city is trying to suppress graffiti all together. And I can understand that the city is tired of all the gang graffiti. My complaint is that not ALL graffiti is GANG graffiti. I haven't seen any new gang graffiti in months!

I know that the bomber populous is growing, and that there are a lot of toys out there who think they can paint, and just spray anything and everything in sight, so I can understand the government's point of view.

I just don't think that ID'ing for spraypaint is neccesary. I think that if the city wanted less graffiti, they'd put more cops on the street--hell, give me a challenge! We need cops on the street here anyway! I got the shit beat out of me, because a group of 6-8 gang members wanted to rob me--that's a whole different story though. Put more cops out on the streets, and have them actually patrol areas where they think bombers are painting. I think that would work out well.

Then I'd have a reason to go running again--It'd be good training, LOL.
