Thread: Ideal Age for Marriage?

I would say the ideal age for marriage would be when the person is responsible and has a steady career/life.

Yes this should be true for both sexes.

Under 18. Maybe. In some wierd if the person is VERY mature and ready. But usually? No.

Child marriage? Umm... read above.

Age of consent different from the marriable age? No. Simple.

Hmm... my mother was 20. My father was 24, though they are now divorced.

I would say 20+ ^^ tat is if they have a stable life and responsible! That means no dirty business!

never. marriage is a union designed to answer to the state, its a social contact as well as a religous sanctification, these things both atempt to rule over and harness the power of human sexuality. if i love someone im with them i see no need to play into the economic grider of of the day. thats right marriage is all about the cash. love is not. the ideal of marriage is tranished by the very structures that esteem its importance most.....wait what im i saying i meant 17 yes thats right just 17.

I believe that 18 is a sufficent age.
I think yes it should be the same for men and women.
It seems rather wrong to get married before 18.
Child Marrage is kinda weird. I've never looked into before, but just a guess is that it's weird.

not really an ideal age, but probably over 18 yrs of age. A person would need to be mature and have the money needed to upbring a family.

probably the best if they were, because i could be like marrying someone who is like 6yrs older or something.

No i dont think it is alright. i mean, how would they get a job and the money , if they are so young.

i really like the idea of that, i mean, the people probably woudn't have a steady state of mind. It would be like putting so much for them to think about.

Anyway, I say.. 18 and above. Because 18 is the age that is long enough for anyone to gain maturity. Maturity is very important because if you are other wise, heh... expect a really soon divorce paper.
