![]() ![]() Credits: 5,730 | Are kids too influenced? i was watching one of those judge shows and it had tese kids there were lesbians but they were 14 , then on a talk show it had transgender kids one was 12 the other wasnt much older and i began to wonder what makes kids like this. and it came to me that maybe its todays socail skills everywhere you look there are gays lesbians drag queens etc. kids see this and think hmmm maybe im like that and follow suit going only on what they see others doing thinking thats what they are. so my question is are kids really like this or are they just going by what they see older people doing it and just assume thats how things are not even concidering that might not be for them at all but thats just how i see it. i want to discuss what other think about this and debate the life styles they live is it what they really want or is it just a phase that tends to mimic what they see or hear about it really isnt a chice they made on there own i belive.

The younger they are, the more easier it is to influence them, its not until your older that you learn self-control and the ability to not let things effect you Grats on your 2,666 post BTW ![]()

![]() ![]() Credits: 37,162 | Re: are kids becoming to influinced? I had the benifet of both being the youngest of 4 kids, so I learned from my siblings mistakes, and being raised to be very open minded by my parents. They let me make my mistakes and had enough trust in me to know i'll learn from them. Letting kids figure things out on their own is one thing, allowing them to do it with out teaching them to be open to other ideas doesn't really work out well in the end when they fall into a bad crowd and aren't open to getting out of it when its in their best interest.

I definitely think that kids are becoming too influence these days..........and i just hate it They loose their personalities and their humanity to become someone else just because they sat it somewhere....and it does not matter where they saw it And what are the parents doing about it.........absolutely nothing They just think that this one one of the stages to becoming an adult and they will outgrow it........right........in your dreams!!!! I never was influenced by anything or anyone.....i know who I am and I will stand by it no matter what.......

Diamond in the Rough | Re: Are kids too influenced? I think that there is a certain level of influence that all people at all stages of life experience. whether it be commercials and you think "That sounds cool" or by society and the friends one has. Someone doesn't wake up one morning and say, "Man! Drinking is so much fun and I totally feel like getting wasted!" Well, you most likely have been influenced by friends, society, or people in general into thinking that. Without prior knowledge of anything, one cannot have an opinion of it, and often times, when people explain something to you, they put in their own opinion. For example: Proposition 32 (made up) is something that is being voted upon. It says that taxes increase in the city to pay for the education systems needs. First side: Proposition 32 increases your taxes for everyone and makes you pay for other peoples kids! Second: Proposition 32 is the only way schools can update their books this year. Don't you want to help the children? These two arguments are biased. It is VERY RARE that someone will ever come across a person that is completely unbiased in explaining something to someone. Therefore, we are all made up of other peoples opinions, beliefs, and thoughts. Very little of "us" actually exists. The conclusions we make up about everyone else's opinions is actually what you may call "ourselves". Especially complex decisions such as religion, there are so many viewpoints in any one religion that its staggering to consider them all. One adopts ideas about that religion from the narrow viewpoint that they themselves have experienced through those they interact with. |
