God, bing the Omnipotent (All Powerful), Omniscient (All Knowing) being that he is, conveys his message in what ever language he chooses, but mostly its in the language that people he wants to send it too so that they would understand.

I believe that there was a time when everybody spoke the language of God, but then they messed it up (ref. Tower of Babel) and God gave us all different tongues and different lands.

God speaks to people all the time, but we don't always understand. For example, one of my favourite jokes:

There was a mighty flood happening. A very righteous man prayed, "God, help me. The water is rising!"

His neighbours pounded on the door, "Come with us! We have a car! We can save you!"

The man replied, "No! I'm waiting for God."

They left. The water flooded the bottom story of his house; he retreated upstairs.

Again, the man prayed, "God, help me. The water is rising!"

A rescue team in a boat knocked on the window, "Come with us! We have a boat! We can save you!"

The man replied, "No! I'm waiting for God."

They left. The water flooded the second floor; he retreated to his roof.

Again, the man prayed, "God, help me. The water is rising!"

A rescue team in a helicopter hover by, "Come with us! We have a helicopter! We can save you!"

The man replied, "No! I'm waiting for God."

The man drowned. When he went to Heaven, he went to God and said, "What happened?!?! I waited for you! Why didn't you save me?!"

God crossed his arms, "I sent you a car, a boat, and a helicopter! What more do you want?!"

I agree with what divine said.

God does not speak to us in any direct way, and those claiming to hear the voice of God are either mentally ill or lying, most likely the latter.

He speaks to us through His actions over the things we as humans cannot control.

But if something is under a human's control, I personnally think He lets us handle it.

With a higher being such as God, there will be many plausible ways for the Omega to talk to someone on Earth. For some christains, he can talk via the Bible and when someone reads a certain passage then some things are clear. Of course God can talk through people and give the advise they are looking for. Then last of all, he can talk through dreams or mental images that appear when ever.

You can not limit the amount of what one can do when its the main focus of a religion. Its one of the focuses that aids people with releasing one's state of mind from confusion or what have you. So for someone to say that God contacting could just be someone within them telling them things that they are thinking and are subconsciously controlling the images. Or as a Christian believes it to be the work of a third party if you will and is controlling the images at a certain time when they feel a certain presence is near.

For my own belief's God language is infamous as we can't control how we perceive things, its something that the human body does on its own that determines how one mind differs from the next. Because of this, God language is limitless. No one will react the same way so to cause a certain trigger within one's mind then the higher being will need to be able how to get through to everyone, not just a selection of people.

as far as the bible goes even if god told someone else 2 write it's word wouldn't we as humans just get it wrong or at least put our own spin on it? i'm not trying 2 limit my topic 2 1 religion unless i'm misunderstanding u on that. limitless language (mathmatics all can comunicate though it)

Anywho, to answer your question:

I agree with Divine Punishment. God doesn't typically speak in actual tongues. He sends signals, signs and prophets. I'm not a very religious man, but I AM a God fearing man. I've always believed that if God is real, he would show me a sign of some sort. He would answer my questions if they are important enough. I've never spoken to a "prophet", but I know of a few Mormons who say they have. (I don't know if tha adds up to much, but that's just my opinion--don't take it the wrong way)

But I have seen signs. I have been sent subtle messages. And I have people who can prove it too--my mother being the first. When I lived in Wisconsin, I was always up to no good. My sister and I were on drugs, we drove with no liscenses to go get drugs and I used to use people to get what I wanted. My mother was always praying for me (she lived in Minnesota--still does--where I reside now). She would say so every time I spoke to her. One day, my sister and I got in to a HORRIBLE car accident! We weren't buckled up and we had rolled over. Crazy how it happened. All I can say was we were in a ditch doin' about 70, hit a lump of some kind of earth, got about 20 feet of air goin' forward and hit a power generator, which blew up and sent us flyin' and rollin' around. Miraculously, we survived practically unscathed.

On the way to the hospital to get looked at, the paramedic said there were around 7-8 different ways we could've died. I called my mom to tell her what happened, and she said that is must be a sign from God. She told me she knew about what we were doin' and was praying for us. She also said that God must not have liked what we were doin' because the accident was so friggin' random. I didn't pay much attention to it at first. But about a week later, I took it seriously. The more I ignored the sign, the crappier my life got, but once I decided to turn over a new leaf, things were lookin' up. I moved back to MN, I started school, and I've been able to find jobs when need be. I am pretty responsible now, and am drug free. I'm also deathly afraid of other people's driving and I buckle up every time I get in a car.

That accident changed my life in a way. And NOBODY can tell me that God didn't have anything to do with it. He spoke to me on that day. I know because when we were in the air, the song "alive" by POD came on. And if you've seen the video, you'd know what I'm talkin' about. (There's nothing but crashing cars and rollovers in that video) God speaks to us in many ways--most of the time without saying a word.

well drugs been there done that! i nolonger do drugs, but i now reside in a homeless shelter. i've been clean 4 9 yrs. been diabettic 4 17, if god's tellin' me something i don'e quite get it. i've survived ODs, car accidents, extremely high blood sugar, a baseball bat 2 the back of the head (thx mom ) and a suicide attempt although that was the doc's doing.
all these things can be explained mathmatical, probabilty & physics. what our feeble minds see as sign are visual or psycological inturpetations of these laws we can break the laws of man & nature, but the laws of physics can't be, these laws i believe 2 be the word of god.

just one question atomic, what could god be telling me?

Y'see, that's the thing. There isn't enough math and science in the world to be able to translate what God is saying. When God gives you a sign, it is up to you to figure that out. If God wants you to know something and it is imperative, he'll tell you flat out what it is you should be doing. Maybe you're just not reading between the lines. Maybe if you could explain a bit more about your past, I can help you. PM me if ya want.
