Well, if drugs are not legal in the next year or so, I imagine it'll be legal within a few decades, simply because our generation, (the one that uses the most drugs) will be the ones in congress pulling the strings. It's just like the old controversy over rock music corrupting our youth....it was a big issue until the generation that listened to rock music gained power. Once the generation that fully understoood Rock because they lived through it became the congressmen and president and supreme justices, it was no longer an issue. That's why I see debate over video games and drugs going out the window in another 20 years.Originally Posted by Spymonk

I'm not saying that drugs will be ok because we're a rock generation. I said that in it's heyday, classic rock was severely frowned upon by the government. Yet when the people who grew up listening to rock came into power, that all changed and rock was no longer a big deal. I'm using that scenario as an analogy for drugs. I'm not saying drugs are a good thing either, I just think that in about 20-30 years, they won't be a big deal any more. Even if drug users don't get elected into congress, they'll still be more accepted universally, and any congressman who blindly opposes drugs will lose popularity and not be reelected. Just like when video games become as accepted as rock music, Hillary Clinton won't be given a passing glance untill she changes her message to the public. This is all a long way off, though, so don't expect to see immediate reforms in 3 weeks, or anything. Just expect a gradual decline in opposition.Originally Posted by kastelic4444

mexico wants drugs to be legal, thats bad.
Sorry if I gave the impression that US policy is the only policy that matters, it's just that I know my government can be very imposing and presumptuous at times. I was just thinking of the close relationship between the US and Mexico, and how that makes the US even more likely to try to impose it's will over Mexico's sovreignty(pretty sure I didn't spell that right). I don't think we have the right to tell the Mexicans "No! You don't have the right to enstate your own legislation without our consent!".Originally Posted by Hassun
