Urban Legends Reference Pages: Muslims Out of Australia!

Austrailian Muslims are being told to re-evaluate where they want to live. Would this be an option in the US. How would you all feel about sending an entire religious group to another part of the world? Would this help in the global war on terrorism?

Wow! Good question. Hmm... Let's see.

Well fist of all, I don't understand why people think that ALL Muslims are of "Terrorist decent." Like, just because you believe in Islam, you wanna blow some s*** up.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm no Muslim--never have been, probably never will be. BUT, I can have an open mind to other beliefs. YES, there are Muslims out there who belive that any act of defiance to Allah or thier country calls for a suicide bomb or something, and YES, there have been several major incidents where Muslims are terrorists.

But that doesn't mean that ALL Muslims are bad. I know quite a few Muslims who don't want anything to do with the war in Iraq, or any war in general. I know PLENTY of non-violent Muslims, who want nothing more than to just be at peace. So when you ask what I think about relocating Muslims as a whole (be it to another part of the country or another country), I just think that's a little wrong.

That's like saying, "Well, George W. Bush is a white guy and a horrible president. Hey, I know! Let's move all the white people out of this country. And while we're at it, why don't we remove all the blacks, in order to prevent all this street crime." You see what I'm saying? If not, lemme break it down to you for a hot second:

Ethnic cleansing does no good to society as a whole. It's nothing more than bad stereotypes and false accusations. A small percentage of Muslims are terrorists, so that means you move the group as a whole? NO!! Not all blacks are on the streets livin' the thug life, and I don't see anyone coming to my house talking about I have to leave the country. It's all just another excuse to get away with racism, or biased opinions or beliefs.

It's just more proof that the people who run the world are idiots.

And NO!!! It wouldn't help the global war on terrorism. What kind of sense does that make? "Uh... Yeah! Let's move all the Muslims away from us, so they can have an excuse to be mad at us and declare war!!!"

Interesting question. I can tell your only response did not read the link though.

The proposition isn't relocating all Muslims from Australia but telling them that there is only one law of the land and those who wish to live under Sharia Law need to go where that is the law. The only ones specifically being asked to leave were the clerics who were teaching that that was actually Sharia law in Australia as well as (or possibly instead of) the government laws.

Honestly I can't find an issue with it. In my opinion everyone (not just Muslims) who don't want to live by the laws of the country they're in should move to a country that has the laws they want. Every time I hear someone saying how great it is in Cuba etc I want to buy them a plane ticket and see what they have to say a year later.

I can't speak for America, I can only speak for myself and my limited experiences, but my limited experiences tell me that you cannot force an entire race, nation, creed, etc. to leave a country. You may get a great deal of them out, but there will always be more and persecution strengthens a belief like nothing else. People will go underground (maybe not literally) and worship, there will be riots (or at least protests) . . . there is no such thing as a clean break when it comes to people.

Yes, beaten paths are easier to follow. At what point did people start thinking it was perfectly acceptable to have dissidents sowing treason in a country? Someone has to stand up and say enough is enough.

I think forcing them to leave wont solve anything it wil only creat more hate, you cant force people to leave just becose they have a religion that you dant like.
And if your going to ban a religion you should ban al religion no exeptions becose there are only a few poeple that are so extreme that they comite terorisme and murder for there religion, evry religion has people in it that are extreme in to there religion its just on obsesion and on obsesion is always bad.

I never heard about this incident... I might've missed it and it's an urban legend so it might not be true. Muslims here in Aus are not extremists. I am an open minded person and I don't believe there is any need for them to say "get out" or anything...

In the article he said it's neccessary to a certain extent to go to their schools and check for any signs of terrorism. Isn't it better to just patrol outside the school and all?

As I see it, it seems like a stereotypical view of a muslim (or racist view). I personally actually have an Islamic friend and he's fun to be around. If such things were to be stated about an extremist, I still don't see why christianity hasn't gone through this. The KKK is the same as any extremist religious people. If they're going to rule out extremist muslim, why not go with every other religion? If not, then there goes the point of balance.
