YEP! (I had to quote every word of this) I totaly agree... And as off topic as my kudos may seem, I'm so very thrilled to have found someone who understands, and can explain it.

Re: The "N" word!

well hello everybody.

Ok so this "N" word why do you find anything offensive about it?
hear me out before you think I am racist please.

ok now is S.A. you have a very similar word and everyone gets riled up when it is used, but if you take a look in a dictionary at it you will find that the word (Kaffer means native of Africa) and the "N" word as you call it is just an offshoot.

Now people can get angry when the "N" word is used but it is their choice to get angry, because (if you read above) nigger means native of your country,
I am a Kaffer because my native country is Africa.

Hmm... U make a very valid point, but I still believe that the word has too dark a history ta ever fully erase it's past. The pain that it has caused is, in my opinion, too great ta ever allow it ta b accepted as a "brotherly" term. I don' believe that black people who use it r ignorant, but I don' think that they fully understand the signifigance of the history that the word brings wit it. Like I've stated before, one may think one is, of sorts, neutralizin' the word and turnin' it inta somethin' good; but, I feel, all one is succeedin' in doin' is desensitizin' themselves ta the word and it's history. That can only lead ta a repeat of history, that's why I feel that the word should regulated ta the annuals of history; only ta b remembered for the lessons it can teach. The word, for the country, is like lookin' inta a mirror and seein' it's dark history, gone; yet the lessons it brings r not forgotten. We should only remember the lessons and not use such a "dark" word as a term of endearment, no matter which race; creed; or whatever background decides ta use it. The word is hurtful and has a sinister meanin' and history. We should remember the word's past and tell ourselves ta not repeat history and learn from it.

Re: The "N" word!

This maybe my only post on this forum but I 'll come back later. I have many friends and there is just about every race in this group of mine and we don't use any slang or race putdown for a reason, its ractial each other. If someone uses the "N" to my black friends im going to get pissed off. Its not cival to use these terms in a hatfull manner, in this case its cival because were not calling any one names and its nice to see that you got a leval head about this topic, good luck on this forum.

Re: The "N" word!

I don't use the n word. But there's some dumb white guy @ my school that says, "Cracka please!" He's an idiot though. Everybody just stares at him when he says that.

Re: The "N" word!

im really sorry but i cant agree wit u when u say nigger means native of ur country, coz the word Nigger cames from an antique latin word "negro" where did born words like noir, which means somethin without color and in inglish is dark or black..

Re: The "N" word!

Well To everyone who doesn't feel to chummy about that word, (i have been called it, but there is a difference when another black person says it)

Well for one, you can look at it this way:

Two girls are in a dorm, and girl-1 says to girl-2 " what's up you bitch?"
And girl-2 says "Ahaha nothing" then they both chuckle.

Now if a guy walks up to a girl (even if he does know her, girls hate it when you say it) and says "whats up you bitch??" She'll say a whole bunch of unpleasant things i can't say in this post. See how it can be played with only with your own kind?

Just like the word bitch, both an insult and a play word.

Same goes for the "N' word, and not to mention it not cause of ebonix, but
cause the chose a different spelling and pronounciation of the word by knocking the "er and replacing it with an "a" at the end of the word,
Want proof?? go to a lyrics site and look for lyrics to a rap song, then go find lyrics by the Nazi-Girl band "Prussian Blue"
