Re: has anyone heard?

It's the way of life for them. Will take years and years to get this way of life out of them. It is sad yes but there's isn't much anyone can do about it. IMO

Them refers to anyone who roams to be safe from the violence or is the source of the violence.

Re: has anyone heard?

If it was my child I would surely find him and the catch the guy who kidnapped him. Then ask the kidnapper their location and call the police to catch them all.

Re: has anyone heard?

yea ive never heard on this.. but it is a very interesting story.. kinda twisted and defiantly wrong,, but indifferent and interesting in the same same way.. very surreal compared to how it is in the united states.. or any other civilized place for that matter... twisted africans

Re: has anyone heard?

Yeah actually I have heard of it... briefly at least. Its sad to know these kids have to trudge through the night to avoid being abused, tortured or beaten to death.

I saw it on a documentary once and I really felt for them. Having parts of their face carved of, flesh cut down and it gets worse. I'm not in their position so I can't fully comprehend their pain and loss.

If it were my child.. I wouldn't know what to do. As much as I want to hold a search party and hunt down those creeps I doubt living where I am anyone would want to help. Sitting and waiting may sound cruel but its probably the best they could do. Most of the kidnapped kids return eventually... but they obviously lose a piece of themselves back in the camp.

Re: has anyone heard?

Its a very sad thing, I would be willing to contribute to efforts to stop this practice, but what Africa needs right now, the world cannot provide. There are too many problems inside the most powerful countries and most of the peacekeeping and military forces needed to stop this are spread thin. The problem is that there is just too much other shit going on both domestic and abroad that there is nothing for Africa, I have no idea how to stop this unless there is unified effort by countries, and I am not just talking about the LiveAid shit, which was completely pointless, I am talking about governments setting up commitees and research groups and think-tanks, shit that actually matters. Having a ****ing concert to raise awareness is all well and good, but it didn't do anything at all.

Africa needs manpower and resources by many countries and that is not happening, its sad.

What's there to disagree with?

Edited the title because it is VERY vague.

Re: has anyone heard?

What can we do to help? Well, I suggest the people there start by helping themselves. Im not sure if theyre doing anything or not, but by the sound of it, they arent doing much. How can such a thing still be continuing there if the people are actually doing something?

And if it was my kid? Well, it depends, since I dont really know the situation very well. Of course I would try everything I can to get him back, but I would use my brains as well..... theres no use just dying during the process

You've said it right. Child trafficking and abuse are some of the worst examples of immoral acts and human rights viloation. It is very sad, yes, that right now we can't actually do something to stop it. And to think that the victims we are talking about here are children - children who are innocent and fragile, children who have dreams, children who have heart, and most especially children WHO are CHILDREN. It is indeed very hard to stop, as one of you said here, as it is their way of living. Maybe giving those Africans proper knowledge about human rights would help, but that solely is not enough. I think it is best to rescue those kids from their bitter fate, and give them what they really need - food, clothes, shelter, and most of all, love. Restoring their broken dreams and lives, giving them the life they trully deserve and making them enjoy the beauty of their years- maybe that's the best thing we can do right bow. Stop the nightwalkers practice, yes, but most especially, save the children's lives.
