What can we do to help? Well, I suggest the people there start by helping themselves. Im not sure if theyre doing anything or not, but by the sound of it, they arent doing much. How can such a thing still be continuing there if the people are actually doing something?

And if it was my kid? Well, it depends, since I dont really know the situation very well. Of course I would try everything I can to get him back, but I would use my brains as well..... theres no use just dying during the process

The problem is that there is just too much other shit going on both domestic and abroad that there is nothing for Africa, I have no idea how to stop this unless there is unified effort by countries, and I am not just talking about the LiveAid shit, which was completely pointless, I am talking about governments setting up commitees and research groups and think-tanks, shit that actually matters. Having a ****ing concert to raise awareness is all well and good, but it didn't do anything at all.

Africa needs manpower and resources by many countries and that is not happening, its sad.
You've said it right. Child trafficking and abuse are some of the worst examples of immoral acts and human rights viloation. It is very sad, yes, that right now we can't actually do something to stop it. And to think that the victims we are talking about here are children - children who are innocent and fragile, children who have dreams, children who have heart, and most especially children WHO are CHILDREN. It is indeed very hard to stop, as one of you said here, as it is their way of living. Maybe giving those Africans proper knowledge about human rights would help, but that solely is not enough. I think it is best to rescue those kids from their bitter fate, and give them what they really need - food, clothes, shelter, and most of all, love. Restoring their broken dreams and lives, giving them the life they trully deserve and making them enjoy the beauty of their years- maybe that's the best thing we can do right bow. Stop the nightwalkers practice, yes, but most especially, save the children's lives.

They say you can't use oversized signatures here on AO.

the concerts like live aid are there to help show the people of the world whats going on in africa.so if you think this is a bad thing how would you show the people of the world how bad it is there?

I agree, this is national problem. Americans have our own problems to deal with. Don't get me wrong, it's cool to help out other people in the world, but everyone thinks things are fine in their own country. We have starving children in the US that could require the same amount of attention. Nations must first make attempts to help their own people instead of running to "big brother" everytime they run into these national problems.

I havent heard of them.... but I know that in Africa children are in the army....
this is alarming, I mean, how can u give a kid an Ak-47?... If I was in a position like that one... I would probably be doing the same... just keep moving so that the kids wont be kitnaped.. and make a guard with the people that are with me...
as for the US doing something about this... I dont think the US will do something any time soon.... many countries dont like the US being in other countries... and some US citizens dont like fighting a war that isnt theirs.....
I guess the best thing to do(if I was one of those persons) would be to stand up and fight....
Thank you SasuraiHell for making my sig. ur the best.
