[COLOR="SeaGreen"]I suppose we could make it a two part question. Either way, the world is without TV in this thread. Thanks for pointing that out.

I agree with what you said about the internet dethroning TV. The internet practically babysits kids these days. More and more, kids are more concerned about their MySpace than they are about their education. (Local news taught me that.)

I never even tought of the projector as an option. I suppose we'd still have some form of visual communication. Just not live.

Ahh, the typewriter. I had to keep myself from goin' crazy in keyboarding class from all that simultaneous typewriter noise. (Couldn't use the PC til we could format a page using a typewriter and type oh-so-many Words per minute.)

TVs provided us entertainment for long time & the idea of losing them is kind'a hard, but as long as we have internet & other forms of entertainment I guess we'll be alright

I'd rather be dead without the Internet and video games. I can live without TV as long as I see good movies.
But seriously...How do you have a kickass Imax experience with a radio?
I kid, but I think the reason we feel we can't live without it is because all me life I grew up with it. So it's a part of life. You can't miss what you didn't have. If I didn't have it I wouldn't care. But I do. and if anyone tries to take it away I'll will fight them to the death.

I agree that you would be "dead" if you didn't have the internet/tv/video games if they suddenly disappeared tomorrow, but I think you would be just fine if you never ever had them.

You can't miss what you never had.

    Re: No Television?

people got along without any of the tech we have now for millions of years. People can be creative and find something to entertain themselves with though, which is how most tech started. but since weve become accustomed to having it around i think most would go crazy without something like tv if it just died and never cam back.

for the most part i dont watch tv all that much i find my iq goes down after watching it for so long. Id rather read or spend my time outside. More people would be healthier though, and obesity would most likley drop over fifty percent, if tv, comps and the such were either gone, or never existed.

..........nothing is true, everything is permitted..........

Where would you place the internet in all of this? Combining the qualities of telephony, television, radio, etc. into a world wide network.

It is still too early to judge the full effect on the Internet on Mass Media, Printed Publications. Print media is already seeing a decline in readership, with the Internet widely blamed for this. But it remains to be seen if the World Wide Web can replace the role of local print publications. TV ratings, (both broadcast and cable) are also seeing declines. But will the Internet replace this mass media, or will it become 'domesticated' by them, with IPTV protocol replacing Video on Demand...
