I don't know who Oprah is (actually, I've seen her in magazines, but whatever), and I don't live in the States; but judging from the posts I've read, some of you probably disagree with Oprah placing a school in Africa.

I don't want to say this, but: There's actually poverty in America??? With all the American movies I have watched, not one of them have every portrayed that. Anyways, with Oprah placing a school in Africa... I wouldn't consider it as "wrong". But, considering the poverty-struck states in America, I wouldn't consider her decision "right" either. I mean, if I was her, I would've treated my country first. But, think of it this way: She probably thought that one of America's millionaires could build a school in America, that's why she treated Africa, a poverty-struck country.

...Or maybe because she thought there were more uneducated kids there in Africa than in America, that's why she placed Africa as her first priority. I don't know...

Well movies don't tell you everything. There just works of fiction most of the time, and they tend to focus on the good things. They're areas in the US that have very poor ppl. There just not talked about much. Oprah could have easily found a urban or rural run down school to rebuild.

Apparently there are no movies about poverty stricken people in the US. The poverty rate in the united states is actually pretty high, not nearly as high as Africa or many other places but they are all higher than they should be.
