Well I must say first off that you seem to be ranting free of syntax. You should read this again. But to answer up the central point; America has been in hard times before. While many people only know of Mexico what a brochure tells them rest assure that it has its own problems and if in many ways. This will be over eventually.

    *removed insulting comment*

Anyways, the whole wanting to go back to "the good ol days" is what started this problem in the first place. It's what's been keeping the country stagnant like a still puddle.
Amerika has been so busy outsourcing everything(Our Democracy,Our Ideals, Our Jobs, Our Armies, etc.) that we haven't had the time to focus our attentions within, to ourselves and our situations at home.

I think Amerika needs to focus inwards for a decade or two to really fix all that ails. Quit fighting foreign wars for a while and getting sucked into foreign problems. Actually give the chance for our coffers to fill up a bit. Maybe pay off some of our old debt before creating new debt.

    Re: Our Country's Money crisis

Considering the amount of money that the US is in debt, it will take at least a century of peace and economic prosperity to even come close to making a decent dent in the upwards to 12.3 trillion dollars that has amassed over the better part of the last 50 to 60 years.

And that isn't likely to happen.

Now, before you start crying "oh your Canadian, what do you have to say about the US economy and our money situation". A lot actually. I live just outside of Lethbridge Alberta. Its a decent sized farming city about 2 hours north of the border with Montana. Over half of the trade that comes out of Lethbridge heads south of the border.

And yes, even Canada was hit hard by the recession, while we fared better then the US did, we were still effected. I lost my rather nice job at a call center taking tech/billing support calls for you nice Americans (I'm being sarcastic, most of the calls I got were from ignorant people who didn't realize their cable gets cut when they didn't pay their bills) on behalf of Comcast because it was too expensive to do business in Alberta, so they shipped my job to the Philippines. So I fell back on a job that should always be there for people when things are rough: Fast food. Business got so slow because the economy was crap that my hours were cut to the point where I had to look somewhere else for better wages because I couldn't pay my bills with the hours I was getting.

That didn't pan our so here I am, 2 months later, unemployed, still waiting another 2 weeks for my Employment insurance cheques to come in, and still looking for work. Things might be improving, got some positive feedback from some applications I sent out today, will be waiting by the phone tomorrow...

The US economy is an economic power house, only rivaled by China in most cases simply because of population. Then you add in the fact that the Canadian/US economy is very closely tied together (Did you know the US gets 90% of its foreign oil from Canada?) When times are rough in the US, they're rough the world over, but it hits Canada more then other countries. Who would have guessed miss management of funds by US banks would effect the whole world.

Now, on to fixing our Global Economy.

Step one: SPEND MONEY! Only way we can recover from a recession. When money is scarce, people tend to save save save, and not spend, taking money OUT of the economy, thus making the recession worse. This is why the depression in the 30s was so bad, and it wasn't until World War II and the industries in the US switched over to supplying the war effort did a War Economy start and it kick started the country out of the economic rut it was in. I'm not saying we need another war, because we don't, we just have to not be afraid to spend money, especially on big ticket items like Houses, Cars and home electronics and appliances.

Step two: Stop complaining about the government spending a lot of money. Yes, adding to the national debt is a bad thing, and your grandchildren's grandchildren will be paying off the debt for generations to come (Got some bad news for you: The national Debt will never go away, but since the economy needs money to be spent for it to recover, its up the one with the most money to spend it where it can, and that means the government.

If done correctly, government spending can in fact help fix the economy, but it can't do it alone, not with out the populous spending too. Good ways for the government to spend money that would help the economy:

Spend it on Infrastructure (Roads, power, water, telecommunications) upgrades. The upgrading and maintenance will create jobs and put money in the hands of more people. This will also have the added benefit of newer, safer roads (This will greatly effect the shipping industry, the backbone of any country's economy), reliable utilities and telecommunication systems, increasing the quality of life in the country, making people more happy, and happy people tend to spend more money.

Spend it on Education. The US has one of the worst educational systems in the world (for a First World Country), and this is evidenced by your country's literacy rate. This will have a delayed effect on the economy as it will take at least 20 years before the effects are seen, but the more people you have educated, the more likely the economy will be in better shape.

And before you start slamming Obama again, remember this, He is only one man. Just because he is president doesn't mean that he has absolute control over every thing that happens in the country. Its "We the people" not "Obama the President" who is most at fault when stimulus money is mishandled. Once the money is in the hands of the people it is given to, it becomes the responsibility of the Borrower to make sure it's utilized correctly. The government can only control how its spent to a certain percent, because people are greedy.

That is to say, the "American Dream" (IE Greed or the amassing of wealth), is the country's worst enemy when it comes to getting out of this recession.

You should take a page out of the 'evil Socialist' ways we Canadians use. We're not as worse off as the US, and I think its mostly because the average Canadian thinks of others before themselves...

Just a small thought I had...

    Re: Our Country's Money crisis

It is not just motor vehicle places they are closing down. They are also cutting back on teachers and police men. The few honest people that we should be retaining we are giving up. And as crime rises we have fewer police to help with he problem. Firing teachers, always bad (though they were not getting the job done much of the time).

I pretty much agree with acemans statement on american greed. Another thing I agree with is how the US is messing with other economies. I actually heard of the economic pitfalls while living in Japan because it started to mess with them. Now granted this was before teh toyota recall, which they now have only themselves to blame.
