    Re: Parents and Kids

My sisters and I got whacked a lot while we were growing up, and though I wouldn't exactly like to look back on all that caning, I must say it did a great deal in disciplining the three of us. I'd get smacked if I refused to go for piano lessons. I'd get smacked if I said I didn't want to stay back after school for gym. I swear if I have kids in the future they'll be smacked too if they go out of line or try to be funny with me... that is, until they're too old to be smacked. I don't think I could ever be the nice, gentle mom who bakes meatloaf every week and drives to school just to give my kids their lunchboxes.
I get smacked mostly verbally nowadays if I don't follow my parents. Ahh well, where is the childhood whithout disciplining? Unless it gets out of control, like abousing and harassment thennnnnnnn it has gone a LOT far!
If you have children then you're going to treat them like you were treated as a growing kid, trust me it's true most of the time ^_^

Mmmm. Which is why kids who were spoiled end up spoiling their own kids too. It's no wonder all a lot of them do is just waste money. They don't have the skills to do anything else. Why? Their parents just never made them learn. At least, that's what I gather from experience with some... spoiled kids.

This is a very hard question...but i think that a person or individual may do what they want...but i think it would be disrespect to the parents if they do so...maybe they should do what thier parents wants them to until when they got a little older and more mature...they should think for themselve on what they want to do...thats my opinion though..

A: Did it when they were younger
B: Want there child to do it
C: Thinks that their child likes it because they watch it on t.v.

In my opinion it is not right to make a child do anything like that they don't want to. If he/she doesn't want to play a sport don't force it upon them let them find out for themself if they want to do it or not.
I dont agree with the first two but as for the third I do. In many ways its better for the child to be kicked out of the house and play with others then to sit and watch TV in both the physical and mental areas. The physical for the exercise and the mental for the confidence and learning of relationships from the interactions with others.
Barbecued, bake, fryed, every sort of sauce as well as bread of dog.......No mater what it always tastes like chicken. Any ideas oh how to change this?

Goodness no! My friend did that and now her kid has both of his legs broken from ballet. A child should be able to choose what he or she wants to do. Thats a divine right of all human beings.

    Re: Parents and Kids

I think that the whole parents interrupting a child's life by making them do things they don't want to do is a common misconception of parent - child interaction/expectations. I think overall parents do mean well even if a child does not necessarily agree with the way a parent is trying to make their child active or behave well. I don't believe that anyone even a parent can force a child or any other person to do anything. I think it is just a state of mind and a habit to do something for another person and to follow orders/requests.

I'm contradicting myself here, but I must say I disagree with this. Yes, it is a divine right of all human beings, but we musn't forget the fact that a child is still only a mere child. They have no clue as to what they want to do, or know what is good for them. A parent acts as a guide in the matter. But they shouldn't be so pushy about it.

Well kids, if you don't like how your parents treated you. I have good news, you may just get the option to put them in a run down nursing home!
