Yes, it is a crime. For one that's why piracy is called "piracy", because it's an act of stealing, stealing is against the law, therefore piracy is indeed a crime. There's no way of getting around that.

I admit I buy pirat CD's, and I'm proud of it.
HEY LETS BRAG THAT WE LIVE IN A COUNTRY WERE 12 YEAR OLDS NOW HOW TO HACK INTO MAINFRAMS OF COMPUTERS AND PRORAMS ...MAN YOU MUST BE PROUD YOU LIVE IN SRBIA (WERE IS THAT) AND while were at it lets buy games for 2$ good job man reall cool of you thats helping the economy... just b/c things are priced a little high DOESN'T mean you can go around doing that!!!!!!!!
OH MAN OH JEESE lets use big words like bypassing security systems for things like using bittorrent... just b/c you know the word doesn't mean you can use it.. if you use a hack or key button to get through or "bypasss" a security system like content proect(blocker of internet bad sites and etc.)thats what bypassing a security system is NOT using a crappy program to download a file directly from another person like bittorrent .. thanks for knowing what words mean and using them randomly
anyways yah it is a crime no matter what unless they change the law and it really doesn't matter what anybody's opinions are on the matter but people still do it
piracy=taking something that you did not purchase for the original price it is set for.. it's another form of stealing DEAL

Im not sure what type of piracy internet or in real life ? i just mean to state this cause you never know on the web what a preson means at times and this poll is alittle unclear on that. for me internet piracy is not a crime i feel, as lone as it is not too extreame say getting a movie that people dont even know is ben made yet. Real life piracy is a terrorable crime. I dont know if im giving this too much thought or too little thought. i know ill be luagh out for this one but i feel it has to be made clear

It depends on the situation I think , I could say piracy is a crime , if my work has been pirated by someone , but if I used other people's work (pirated) I would not call it a crime.

I don't see what's so hard to get regarding the topic of this thread. It's piracy, in general, which everyone else has understood

Dude, piracy via the internet IS real-life piracy. It's the same as buying a pirated movie etc. You just get the data, whether it be music, movies or whatever, in a different format like on a DVD for an example

So, if I was to download The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King now, it wouldn't be a crime? But if I had downloaded it before anyone knew it was coming out, I would have committed a crime?

Nice logic ya got there. You lose

(I hope ya get the message while I'm still being nice)
