    Re: Piracy, a crime?

Ok, its weird when people say it not a crime because I can get it cheaper or for free via internet? Or "I just wanted this song, I don't wanna buy the cd just to listen to this song." Each countries has different piracy law, some much stricter and others more lenient and easily be bypassed. Ever heard of RIAA?

Piracy is a crime. Thats it. No more no less. If you get caught buying/downloading copys of albums, games etc. you will be executed. If you get caught distributing items with no license or has no right to distribute who ever products you'll get executed.

In the end for us consumers though, it all comes down to moral. Even if you don't have the cash for the product you will some how find the money to buy it to show your support for who ever or for whatever morals you believe in. A lot of people gets tempted by bootleg because of the low price tags.

It depends on the situation I think , I could say piracy is a crime , if my work has been pirated by someone , but if I used other people's work (pirated) I would not call it a crime.
    yea, thats call plagiarism.

Personally and we all know it's a crime. Whether or not that point alone will stop me? Well... It doesn't; Many of us do it and we seem to have no problem. It is a concerning issue about companies / producers and such. But this will continue until something is done. Even if they throw the DMCA in our faces.

    Re: Piracy, a crime?

I dont see it as a crime. I look at as if your a singer a movie star or whatever your putting your work out there for the public therefore anyone can get it via legally or illegaly. I'm personally sick of famous people complaining about people pirating their work because they want to make a few bucks off of it not like they need anymore seriously...

i'm done debating this my personaly oppinion is there ^ you dont like it not my fault.

i agree with kiara if they want there music or games or videos to be seen they should expect that there are going to be people who jus dont want to go out and buy it. they should just stop complaining and be happy with what they have.
