    I agree that it is stealing but look at who it is stealing from.The next time you down load a cd rather then buying it just think " some bad rapper will now 20 euor(or dollars) left the next ime he wants a diamond in his teeth or some extra bling"

    Now if its somthing like a small band then i will buy the album but i would have no problem downloading it if it was by some show off who will probably use the money for a fur coat or some other thing that is not needed.

    That still doesn't really justify it, Tavrail. Who's to say that small band might not waste their revenue as well? And I'm surprised you'd even consider downloading someone's stuff if you thought they were so 'show-offish' in the first place ^^;

    And do we really know where that money goes anyway? It just seems like people think only the really famous waste their money, but there are tons of people who win the lottery and do the same thing too.

    Well in all honesty i only download an album if i like the band and can not afford the album.I always make it a point of buying the album when i can afford it .

    You also make a good point in saying that small bands might waste their money aswell.We have no idea what they do with it but when i see some rapper or hip hop artist who spends a million on a car or a hundred thousand on a diamond chain then i would personally have no problem stealing from them.And its not only rap artists,do pop stars like brintey spears really need that when they have so much already taht they have things that people could save for a year for and still not afford.

    Its all a matter of opinion really.

    I think its a rude, and unspeakable thing to get into peoples stuff.

    I don't care, why should I?

    Only if there trying to kill themselves then I will step in.

    Re: Piracy, a crime?

    Piracy is a crime, pure and simple. It doesn't matter if you don't feel it is a crime (Well, officer, I don't think stabbing this man 15 times just so I could take his wallet was a crime...) or if you don't get caught.

    I'll admit, I get pirated stuff all the time (mostly through friends, but that still doesn't make it legal). But I do plan on buying the stuff when I can. I am one of those guys who likes stuff on my shelf rather then in the computer.

    A friend of mine had me look at a comic dealing with this. It was furry, and he has a habit of showing me some furry related stuff because I was the only one other then his other furiends (That word cracks me up ever time, I love making puns around him by adding "fur" in front of choice words). But it had one gal at a computer file sharing, guy comes over and says that illegal. She says its file sharing and there is nothing wrong with sharing. The guy then says well the people in charge says it is. And then the girl say Are you telling me we have people in charge of who don't understand the concept of sharing?

    After I finish reading it, My friend chuckles and says, funny ain't it? I say no, and then proceed to say my reasons why (mostly insulting the person who thought up the comic). I then blasted more holes in the comics logic then a block of swiss cheese. For one thing, Share is when you let someone borrow something of your's for a period of time. Person A gives a pencil to Person B. What happens to the pencil? Person B has it and Person A doesn't. It is different in file sharing, Person A gives a copy of the pencil to Person B. Both Person A and Person B have a pencil. That is stealing, Person B has a copy of a pencil (s)he in fact did not pay for. Just because you got it from a friend does not make it legal.

    Which is why whenever I remember too, I always tell my friend "Remember kiddies, File Sharing is File Stealing."
    Like one that on a lonesome road doth walk in fear and dread.

    Re: Piracy, a crime?

    Since piracy is illegal, why can't police and whatever stop it? I mean, they got the technology to find out who's pirating and who's not. I think it's not a crime since police doesn't even make the effort to work on it...
