I think its alright because everyone was told that there was santa or any other imaginary person or animal that parents told there children while they were growing up.

i think its better that they do, it makes them more creative, and see more possiblities to look outside something and not be closed minded.
its different though when they live in this fantasy world all the time. Im not saying everyone who does that kind of stuff is weird, but when you base your whole life around it day and night, i think you need help
i still believe in alot of things, because who knows if their true or not? i dunno, its just never been proven so i dont see any harm in it all.
..........nothing is true, everything is permitted..........
well Santa and the tooth fairy are alright but other things may cause mental issues but in another way its good to believe in other stuff too
listen it is perfectly normal for a kid to have an imaginary friend it helps there imagination stay wild and alive
i cry inside for life anew i die each time im torn in two i live for earth and die for none along comes a god who will always bring peace and tranquility
I cried when I found out Santa wasn't real... But, I got over in time to play with all my new toys. And there was something that felt good, about having BUSTED my mother. It was the wrapping paper. I saw her wrap so many presents for friends and family. And my gifts "from Santa"... Had the same paper. Same handwritting.
Now that I am a mother... I tell my children stories about Santa. I try to make the illusion seems as real as possible. Ha! I remember last year, when my oldest son was being bad I would pretend to call Santa up, and discuss weather or or not he should get toys. ..... Whatever works. And hey, when he finds out i will congradulate him for being so clever and witty, for discovering the truth.
I sort of look at it like that too... a test. To see if they can decipher the clues, to find the truth through a lie. Hell, its going to be a useful trait as they get older. The ability realize truth, rather to depend on what they're told. Santa and the tooth fairy are just some of the first of lies that children will be told. And those are FUN lies! From a kids prespective I'm sure you're like " Im getting presents and money?! Lie all you want!"...
Its better to learn about deciet while you're young... and who better to teach you than your parents? At least when I lie to my kids... it is to teach them, not to get over on them... and the better they learn to see PAST a lie... the easier they will sail through life.
... Not Ever Again...
It's alright for kids to believe in certain things to make things fun
I mean it's only about time before you realize the crap isn't real
Some kids don't believe the things in the first place
Interesting question. On one hand I would say no. Children are tought that lying is bad so why on earth is it okay that we lie to them? I think it's wrong to let them believe. On the other hand, why not. It is America, right? the country where we coddle our children in hopes that they'll stay children forever, Because what would come of the world if we lost our innerchild?
Really it's a personal choice for the parents. I dont intend on telling my kids about santa or any of that other bs. when you think about it its just one more way to scar and ruin thier fragile minds.
