Health care has proved to be a divisive issue. In his first year as president he has managed to rip the country apart. That is a change. Just not a good one.

    Re: "Scary" Government

Kind of reminds me of a joke thats very similar to what him and his people want to do.

A man is trying to get something from a vending machine, but all he has is a $20 bill, the item he wants is a $1.50. Another man walks by and offerse to give the guy change for the $20. The guy said sure. The man simply takes the $20 and starts to walk off. The other guy stops the man and demands for the change. The other guy said, "Oh, I was simply changing the $20 from your hands to mine."

    Grumble Grumble Grumble

Though speaking of the Canadian Health Care system, MSNBC posted a web article on it this morning...
A Harris-Decima poll published last month found that 82 percent of Canadians believe their system outdoes America's, and 70 percent felt it was working very well or well. The telephone poll of 1,000 Canadians was conducted from June 4 to 8 with a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.

Funny Len as you forget to throw in the second half of it.

"It is in fact a very poor health care system that regularly fails Canadians," Nadeem Esmail of the Fraser Institute, a conservative Canadian think tank, wrote in a newspaper opinion piece published this month.

He said Canada has the developed world's second most expensive universal health care system after Iceland, yet lags behind other industrialized countries in access to medical technologies and physician-to-population ratios. He noted that Canadians on average had to wait longer to see a specialist or receive elective surgery than in other developed countries with universal health care such as Australia and Britain.
I will also add that Britain and Australia take far longer then American health system. Nice try Len.

Oh??? But you seem to be ignoring this part...
Canada's system provides its citizens with coverage at a much lower per capita cost than the U.S. largely because its single-payer system, in which the government picks up the tab, greatly reduces administrative costs.

According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, per-capita spending for health care in the U.S. was $6,714 in 2006; in Canada, $3,678. The U.S. spent 16 percent of its GDP on health care that year; Canada spent 10 percent.
At least MSNBC is including the opinions of a partisan source (no doubt, not a part of the 70% majority who approve of the system) in the name of fairness... If the Canadian Health Care system is as bad as you claim it is, then how do you explain why 82% of Canadians think it's a better system then what the US has in place now???

You pay more for much better care, you get what you pay for as the saying goes. I had to deal with free health care and the same goes for my family and I can tell you it is worth paying a little exstra here in the US. The waits are shorter, there are more practaces aloud here in the US then in Canada, there are medication available here where they are not in Canada... So on and so forth. You also have to look at the ramafacations of all the money being spent into free health care as well and the problems that WILL arise because of it in other areas. Trust me, you will regret it if this passes. read Sec. 1121, Pg. 239, Lines 14-24 for an example of whats in the bill.

Look at the other countrys that have done it it has made them gone down hill like Great Britain they did it and said it doesnt work and they are right it will just put us in a never ending debt and if the goverment stops doing it then millions will say hey you cant do that and will scream at the goverment so theres really no way out when your in it.
I can't say that I agree or disagree with the idea of "universal healthcare". On one hand, it sounds pretty sweet. I break a limb, the government's got my back. On the other hand, it would take a lot of money out of our pockets until it was set up for action. They can't just magically make money appear for the gov to use for healthcare. The way I see it is that we just wait and watch. B*tching about it won't do us any good until the bill is passed and somethin' starts to happen from it.

I just think there are some people who play too much Metal Gear Solid when I hear folks talk about this "Evil Empire" that supposedly exists in our nation.

And now they are accusing the American people of being Un-American for speaking against Obama and that any one who speaks against Obama and the Liberal party is considered a right wing radical nut, a raciest, a Nazi, or for those who are Black, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, and every one else, be they Rep or Dem who disagree with them, they are called Black/Hispanic/Asian/Native American sell outs and other disrespectful comments.
Can any one imagine a Republican saying this to the American people? That Rep or group of people would catch absolute hell, be dragged out of their office and beaten to death.
Nobody ever accused anybody of Un-Americanism when somebody talks down on Obama. And if they did, so what? The same thing happened when people talked dirty about Bush! Big deal. There are always gonna be people who defend the other side. It wouldn't be much of a free country if we didn't have the right to voice our opinions.

I've been called many things before, including "sell-out" and "Uncle Tom". You either get over it, knowing you're the bigger person for leaving it alone, or, you can let it drag you down to their level--making you just as ignorant as the person who started it. One's opinion about another doesn't really mean jack to me. We had problems with our last president, I'm pretty sure we'll have problems with this one too. Oh well, that's life! ^_^

Umm Atomic, yes they have, and those who said it are those with in the Gov. Nancy Polocy said it as well as many others who said it to those who apposed Obama, you can even look it up.

Also, no one said that people were Un-American when they apposed Bush.

But you are right, Obama is 100% American.
