![]() ![]() Credits: 572 | Schools Blocking Websites? A couple months ago, my school magazine let out an article about schools blocking websites due to various reasons. So far my school blocks Myspace, LiveJournal, hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, Vibe, Newgrounds, Gmail, Xanga, Playboy, Miniclip Games, Ebaumsworld, KKK-related, IGN, and Gamespot. If you can't think of what to say on the matter, some starter questions ^.^ : Do you believe schools have the right to block websites from students? At some places students are not allowed to access email acounts while teachers are. Do you find this kind of rule fair? Does your school block out websites? Describe the kinds of sites they've banned. What kind of response has come about to these? (yours and other peoples') What kinds of websites do you feel shouldn't be under such bans? Why? I'll answer after a few people respond ![]() |

Diamond in the Rough | Re: Schools Blocking Websites? Schools should block certain sites. The schools budget pays for and maintains the computers and if blocking sites is the only way to prevent viruses and weird downloads by stupid kids then so be it. If kids want to look at something that's blocked at school...then they should use their computer at home

![]() ![]() Credits: 2,023 | Re: Schools Blocking Websites? Yea, my school only blocked myspace, because ever since a couple kids started to go on everyone else did and then the teachers heard on the news about kids getting killed because of it and so they banned it.A lot of people started to complain about it. But I don't really care if the school block us from some websites because it's their computer not mine so it doesn't matter.

![]() ![]() Credits: 2,023 | Re: Schools Blocking Websites? People died from viewing myspace [/quote]well no, it's not like that what I mean is that the people on myspace wanted to meet the other person in real life so they decided they will and when that happened the person got killed because they got tricked, yea that's how it happened thats what I think happened. so thats why teachers blocked that site thinking it's really that bad.
