Ugh, my school blocked almost everything. But thanks to proxies, it doesnt matter to me!
I think that schools shouldnt block websites
A couple months ago, my school magazine let out an article about schools blocking websites due to various reasons. So far my school blocks Myspace, LiveJournal, hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, Vibe, Newgrounds, Gmail, Xanga, Playboy, Miniclip Games, Ebaumsworld, KKK-related, IGN, and Gamespot.
If you can't think of what to say on the matter, some starter questions ^.^ :
Do you believe schools have the right to block websites from students?
At some places students are not allowed to access email acounts while teachers are. Do you find this kind of rule fair?
Does your school block out websites? Describe the kinds of sites they've banned. What kind of response has come about to these? (yours and other peoples')
What kinds of websites do you feel shouldn't be under such bans? Why?
I'll answer after a few people respond![]()

i think its a pretty smart idea myself blicking porn site like playboy ,and off topic places that aren't school oriented it keeps the kids focused on school stuff.
my self when i was in school the computer had just been made and only certain schools used them. so i had a frist hand exeperince in the with computer.
of course there wernt as fast or as good as the ones today though.
we only hade apple tandy's and texas instruments with format disk's with little dot's and stuff. oh umm yea back to your problem the school are doing the right thing by blocking some sites from kids. though i agree kids should be aloowed certian pages for educational stuff like CNN.com or something along those lines
but the idea of kids neding to surf the web when they should be doing school work is silly im sorry to say . but this is just my thought
I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and all your demons
I'll be the one to protect you from a will to survive and a voice of reason
I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and your choices son
They're one in the same, I must isolate you...
Isolate and save you from yourself
well, with certain software and knowledge of my teachers' passwords it really doesn't affect me at all.
i log in as the headmaster instead of a student.
thanks to zyta for the sick sig and avy!
thats really messed up even the part with the teachers being the only ones able to email
i mean they can be doing anything on their computers and the principal wouldnt give a crap![]()
i know, but when the principal gets in trouble for being on anime online during school....
that will be fun this year, last year it was runescape.
thanks to zyta for the sick sig and avy!
psssh, its like madetory for a school to have protective software.,
if its gaming or chat(which even forums are counted) are not allowed to be accessed at school because, well you gotta study end of arguement.
but most of the time i think the school boards do it out of spite, while they're there working hours on end on assignments, there we are having fun., how could they not get jealous??,
Thank you sooo much Pyro Psycho>
Schools should block certain sites. The schools budget pays for and maintains the computers and if blocking sites is the only way to prevent viruses and weird downloads by stupid kids then so be it. If kids want to look at something that's blocked at school...then they should use their computer at home
We traded blows in violent prose
And made arrangements heaven knows..
