    Re: Schools Blocking Websites?

Yea, my school only blocked myspace, because ever since a couple kids started to go on everyone else did and then the teachers heard on the news about kids getting killed because of it and so they banned it.A lot of people started to complain about it. But I don't really care if the school block us from some websites because it's their computer not mine so it doesn't matter.

    Thanks lifeforce! (:

I agree. You're in school for a reason xD I can understand if you're in the Computer Room during your break and want to visit a Forum or whatever, but during lesson hours i think you should be concentrating on the work (or at least attempting too xD can't say it always works lol).

And porn etc should definately remain blocked, if people want to look at porn they should use their own personal computer >>; Not the schools.

well no, it's not like that what I mean is that the people on myspace wanted to meet the other person in real life so they decided they will and when that happened the person got killed because they got tricked, yea that's how it happened thats what I think happened. so thats why teachers blocked that site thinking it's really that bad.

when i was in school, they didn't block anything, exsept for the messenger

i think they have the right to block some websites that they think they'll not help the students
but they don't have the right to block e-mails and searching websites

At my school, it went as far as the administrators deleting some people computer accounts becasue they had blocked nearly all interesting sites and alot of people decided to download a program called Torpak to bypass the filter and go to sites like Myspace and whatever else they wanted to go...And got their accounts deleted.

No account = Getting no work done = F

You are suppose to be learning at school, not surfing the internet. Of course they should have the right to block it.

If you want to surf the net, do it at home.
