At my school we were having a debate if gays/bi's/lesibians should go to hell cause of the bible. It went on forever and it seems we haven't decided about it yet? As I ask our AO community do you think so? Should gays/bi's/lesbians go to hell cause of the bible says so?

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with it. Homosexuality has been around forever and is not even exclusive to human beings. While it obviously isn't a useful trait in terms of reproduction and evolution it doesn't bother me at all.

Why do I have to keep saying this, HOMOSEXUALITY DOES NOT SEND YOU TO HELL. No where in the bible will you find that so this discussion is extremely homophobic.

I do not agree with the lifestyle of homosexuals and the bible is very clear that it is wrong; however people confuse the issue on what sends a person to hell.

The ONLY thing that can send a person to hell is not putting your faith in Jesus as your lord and savior. End of story. John 3:16 is very clear on how to be saved and no where in that verse does it say anything about not being homosexual or sinless.

Sin is sin and while it carries a steep price (For the wages of sin is death… ) and all have sinned (For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God…) it isn’t sin which sends you to hell. Never has been and never will be.

No they shouldn't not only because of what Chiefy said but also because if you condemn someone going to hell because they love someone then surly everyone is going there. Just because someone loves someone of the same sex it doesn't mean they are doing any so terribly wrong. We are all encouraged to be who we truly are and if people are Homosexual then we should accept it.

I have a few gay friends and they are really not that different. They are just like anyone else its just that they date people who are the same sex as them.

Why is this question appearing here from time to time? It is silly to argue about that because we are not God and we can't know and can't decide (bible also wasn't written straightly by God nor by Jesus, therefore here must be some human personal opinions, and it also has been edited a million times from the time it was written. And nothing like that was on the ten commandments....) i don't think God will send anyone to hell because they follow their heart because then I'm quite doomed too...

You don't go to Hell unless you fully reject God and don't WANT to go to Heaven. "For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son . . ." (etc.) That's Scripture (John 3:16, one of the most quoted verses ever). Note that it says "For God so loved THE WORLD," not "For God so loved only heterosexual couples" or what have you. Being homosexual is not a sin (sodomy is!), so having tendencies toward the same gender is not enough for eternal damnation.

Homosexuality is VERY MUCH A SIN per the Bible, but that isn't the question. The question is if they should go to hell and the Bible is quite clear that sin isn't what sends one to hell...only rejection of Jesus Christ as you lord and savior.

Thank you. I'm fully aware of what sodomy is, having read the dictionary myself. You're right, though; sin has nothing to do with Hell . . . it's all about rejection.

I know a young man - a flaming homosexual, no ifs, ands, or buts about it - who is a very pious individual. He clearly loves God and loves to serve God. I am convinced that he is going to go to Heaven when he dies, regardless of his sexual inclinations.
