wtf mate? | Re: Should the gov. provide a free higher education? Quote:
loser..Well, i'm currently in higher education ( Uni ) and I say yes! make it free! well realistically it will never happen, but they could try to at least make it more affordable for us. Most students have to pay for rent, food, bills, car maintence and petrol, text books which guarrenteed is going to cost you at least $500 (Aust) ( less if ur lucky), plus if you aren't eligable to get HECS ( basically a loan thing) you have to struggle to get around $2000 every 6 months! grrrr... which is heaps when your a minimum wage and can only work certain hours, until it start interfering with Uni.. I suppose it pays off in the end with a good paying job....

U know there is another way of doing the higher education thing that is by grades your higher education is free if u can achieve this and that grades. Then and only then will the goverment pay for the students that realy wanna be there and study and become someone with a higher education in my case i did not have money to do it for myself and that is just that so i started working at a company and after a year i worked there studied threw them they payed for it every year i studied and if i would fail i must pay for myself. So yeah that puts us in a situation where they are willing to pay until u are not willing to study if it was so easy i recon we would have goverments pay for the education for the willing to study.. Sorry china is a bad example they pay because of the socialist country and there the govermunt pays for everything so keep on dreaming about the day u need to study no more then it will be free. ![]() LOL. |

God's Little Girl | Re: Should the gov. provide a free higher education? No, they shouldn't. Calvin (Bill Watterson's Calvin & Hobbes) says everything should have a cover charge to keep out the riff-raff. That's putting it simply. Just imagine how much the government would have to pay to cover thousands to millions of students? You pay for the facilities you get - it'd be a huge loss to the government and the country's economy if everything were free. |
