Should teachers earn more than they are getting paid? I have noticed that teachers don't get paid as much as they should. I mean they are the ones pretty much creating the next generation. They are a big part of children's and teenagers lives and they have to put up with spilt drinks, kids peeing and crying , changing hormones , and all that other stuff. They work hard , but yet they get paid so lousily. I mean they are doing us good ,so why shouldn't they get paid more? I know some teachers protesting about their lousy pay , and it seems , the bigger the city , the less the pay, the smaller , the larger the check. I know it is all split , depending on how many students, but they say it is not enough.. So should they get more?

Hmm..teacher job is really something that doesn't get you rich, but ya can manage.
They actually are doing really nice job by teaching us and sometimes they work
long hours at home to get everything ready.
They are really one profession that is absolutely too low paid. Atleast I
am ready to give teachers more money for what they do.

I think teachers should get paid more. I mean they have to know alot to teach and have had to be in school for a long period of time. All that effort for a small amount of money. I believe that teachers should get paid more. For the effort they put in teaching they should get paid double. This goes for most teachers. Im sure thr are some teachers out thr who dont give teching thr best and just slack off, for them they should be getting paid the same as they are now. No kudos for them.

Wow, you make allot of threads. Anyways I think teachers should get paid allot more than they do, there job is allot more stressful than some and I see what kind of crap they have to put up with everyday, it's pretty awful for some of them.

I totally agree coz they take su much abuse from the kids, get stress from the noise n immaturity. They r in effect creating the next 10 years or so. U could say tht they are creators of wut's to come in the near future.

yes...they put up with alot of crap from students.and all the teachers are trying to do is help them when they get out into the real world.teachers see students sometimes more than parents do their own children. so yeah teachers don't get enough respect as it is can we at least give more pay for what they do.

Yeah i agree teachers should get paid more, but where will that extra money come from? For every dollar that tax payers pay $60 cents are taken to paid all the educational expenses. Students should also appreciate what teacher do, most teacher go home to do extra work and we (students) don't appreciate their hard work, instead we behave like morons in their classrooms making them go nuts.

Yes, they should be paid more. As for where the money comes from - maybe the state's should stop harboring their lotto revenues in the "general fund" and put that money back to where they originally said it would go - to schools. The amount of money generated by the lotto or whatever other form of state-sponsored gambling, is more than enough to offset the funding necessary for schools to keep their athletic programs, their music programs, their drama programs, and whatever else programs AND pay for increase in teachers salaries.

Right now, the unions are trying to maneuver for more money for their members - i.e. the teachers - but one problem they face is lack of ability by the school districts to fund. If you want teacher pay to increase, you need to fight it through your state legislature.

Most teachers are deserved of more pay. Some aren't - but that's just human nature. For every 1 teacher who is in it because they want to have summers off, there are 20 teachers who put in about 12-16hrs each day because they want to make sure that their students get a decent chance at learning. Remember, the teachers can't force kids to learn - they can only provide as much material and opportunities for the kids to learn as the kids are willing to accept. If you didn't learn something in school, it's most likely because you chose not to learn.

sorry, my wife is a teacher, my sister and brother-in-law are teachers, my wife's parents are both teachers, my mom works in a school district, one of my aunt's is a teacher, etc etc etc. This is a subject that hits home with my family.

yes... i do believe teachers ought to gain more salary than they are receiving... i totally admire those teachers who teaches in public schools, like here in the Philippines, education is a necessity especially in the growing population of the youth. they are given very little salary, yet they are given the most stressful jobs. imagine yourself handling 80 kids (yeah, 80 here in the Phil... u.u) in one section, and manage to teach them all. what if there's a fight or something, ha! i would probably cry blood in front of them.

and still, there are those voluntary teachers, who don't receive any salary just for the sake of educating little ones from the tribes up here in the mountains, or in a secluded area wherein technology is in several miles radius.

so teachers are to be given high respect, (and higher salary of course ) as they are one of the foundations of our knowledge. they are the ones also responsible into molding us into reaching our aspirations etc... etc... i just hope that the government would look back in their lessons as to how to manage the people's money.

I do believe that teachers should be paid more. They are the ones who educate the poor to become the rich. Or the rich to become richer. Either way that should help earn them their pay along with their students.
