I was just wondering what people thought about bringing back hanging. It's not official but it's on the balance, now this time hanging is for the really bad it's not excpected on murderers but the really bad ones that have like two life sentences back to back. They are wasting space in our prisons and with this we can catch more criminals and get rid of more. I think they should bring it back because of the above reasons it's a brutal punishment worthy for those that have been brutal call it equal judgment for the victims. i'm sure they would want it as muhc as i do. I am talking about death hanging break neck dead sadam husanne style. If they do bring it back who is going to do this job? Other inmates i think that have murdered should do this duty. I hate people in prison for murder rape and etc. They don't deserve what there given, they should die because their time in prison is easy apparently. I hope they bring some dignity back for the families that have lost many they have loved.

I would say that hanging should be brought back in order to reduce less murders as well penalty breakers that are on verge to simply break laws numerous times. I say this, because it is just a game for killers that killing is fun and which is not, it is just slaughtering innocent people nothing else.
This country has been trying to get rid of numerous killers that keep on killing without a reason and also that want to simply have a joke about it, and is not very popular for us citizens to watch a bunch of killers on the loose to kill someone in an instant.

i dont think they should bring hanging back because it caused alot of bad things and i think that it would be worse for everyone that is why i think they abolished it forever.

Bringing back the ol' noose or modern equivalents is a great way to make your government look like a hypocrite.

The message: "Killing is bad. So if you kill someone, we kill you. What's that? Does that mean that whomever performs the lethal injection should be killed as well for killing? Of course not, we're the government!"

What if some random person killed someone because they thought it was the righteous thing to do? Or would the government be the only one to decide who's worth killing?

I oppose it 100%.

i say no cause i don't like killing people period just cause say they kill someone its not like killing the person who killed another person is going to being back that person they killed.

plus when you hang someone they don't always die quickly and i say thats wrong. cause you will never know if they will still be alive when you hang them. i don't think that its right even for a criminal.

You have to understand in the world it doesnt work they way almost every wants it to. When some one is comdamd to death for killing or doing anthor crime. They wait for years before they are sent to death. And every so often some get really good lawers and are set free. The jails in the USA are being over crowed. We cant let them out b/c they havent done there time, and the other havnt been put to death..

A more horrid forum of punishment for criminals... yes...

Even if it's not death, but the mere fact that prison in most-parts is better for the criminals then the outside world I would argue that it is not a punishment. I like China's way of doing it, you have shorter terms for everything but murder but your jail cell is so small you can't stretch out in it, you get bread and water, not outside time, etc.

If hanging would be more extreme and actually give reason for people not to commit crimes then I would be all for it... But as is I don't think it would be an effective "scare tatic"

I am totally for bringing back hanging.and for any type of capital punishment.....
For example...a person raped a young girl and then decided to kill her.....and then we find out on the news he was sentenced to life in prison or even shorter than that..I mean what in the world is that?.....I believe that if a person brought pain unto others...he should receive the pain tenfold....if the person killed another person..he or she deserves to die the same way....it is as simple as that..
and then there are people in this world that will always go against capital punishment and say that it is a very "harsh" and "rude" way to die....and that makes me so angry..don't they see that the person is a murdered and that he or she actually KILLED somebody?

No. Because our justice systems are not perfect and it's unfortunate that even now people are being put into jail for a crime they did not commit. Bring back capital punishment and their is still that chance that an innocent person could be put to death for a crime they did not commit.

Without capital punishment, that innocent person would at least still be alive and still able to have people outside to collect evidence in his/her case, with the possibility of being released and compensated for being wrongly imprisoned. But, if wrongly accused and given the death penalty, well once your dead- your dead.

I'm all for harsher conditions for the more serious crimes though. Death just seems like an easy way out doesn't it? Well compared to rotting in a jail for life that is. A waste of money? not if conditions in there a made worse.

No. Killing someone for anything is wrong. Regardless of what they did. Sure, they killed someone. But we can't do much about that now, and taking that persons life isn't going to fix anything. A much better alternative to hanging someone could be helping them. Just an idea.
