Well the smell makes me sick aswell. And like what Cobra_commader said, almost everything can kill us today.

But I guess what I find amazing is that, even though there is overwhelming evidence that smoking is bad, yet people still start it.

I went to a scientific lab once ( we got to look at reall dead people x_X)
They showed us a smokers lung, compared to a person who didn't smoke and lived in the city.

I didn't know it was a lung until I asked - that is how unrecongisable it was. All it was, was black moosh - all squisy- not even firm, it was disgusting and gross...

But, the normal persons lung was intact and such, it still had a tiny bit off tar on it from air pollution, no where near as bad as the smokers lung of course. But it was the first time I realised how bad pollution in cities is.

Yeah seems like everything can kill you. I don't brag about myself smoking but after you get a taste for it and a slight buzz, then having a good long drag in the morning with a cup of coffee feels like heaven. Almost feels better than sex at times. I wouldn't mind quitting right now but it doesn't feel like the right moment. Ill prob put it off when I see a spot on my lung, but I wish I didn't. I am pretty stubborn.

About 3 days ago or maybe more give or take, harvard found that nicotine in cigarettes has risen from 1.3% to 11% in the past 7 yrs or less. My calculations may be wrong but 11% is right I am sure. Its becoming more addictive each passing year and its becoming increasingly harder to quit. Soon it'll be as potent as heroine I think. Addicted the first time you try it.

Now there's something you can look forward to.

in canada u cant cmoke in public no more... but people still do i think its revolting... what do u get out of cigs? ok i can under stand pot... but ciggarets no..

actually its not taht you cant smoke in public, just not near or in a public building. these rules were made long ago. even still its only a by-law that fines people 500$ for smokeing 2 meters away froma building or closer

The funny thing about people who smoke that try to defend their right to smoke is that second hand smoke is more toxic than actually smoking. Isn't that a kick in the teeth.

The fact remains that despite their efforts if they indeed try to quit, they are killing the rest of us. Personally I don't usually complain about this kind of thing but smoking just has no positive effect on anyone but it still sells and people still smoke. It is an endless cycle of I didn't want to try it but I can't quit.

Smoking is very restricted where I live. Almost every public place I go to either restricts smoking entirely or has a smoking area.

My personal opinion of smoking is that I just don't like it. I'm fine with someone else smoking because hey it's their life not mine. I can't stand it if someone smokes near me though and that's because I have asthma. If someone is ever smoking around me I automatically have trouble breathing and I start coughing after a while. I mean my uncle is a heavy smoker and I can't stay in his house for more then thirty minutes because I just have so much trouble breathing in there.

Normally smoke doesn't bother me, but ever since I got visciously ill from being in the smoker aquarium with my buddies and spent an entire night wretching, I have a slightly different stance on things.

It is ultimately people's right to choose whether or not to smoke, and I do appreciate the fact that it is illegal to smoke is most retaurants now, but I think the laws are getting a little too strict. I read on a billboard that you cannot smoke in your own car if there is someone else in the car with you. That might just be a NJ law, but I had to do a double take. Sure, you'd never get pulled over for something like that, but what would happen if a cop was having a bad day and you had a light out. Hello 35 dollar ticket for smoking.

Not worth it to me.

I agree with you that is the persons right, but I think making it so you can't smoke in cars, with other people, is a good thing. I hate it when I pull up at the lights and there is this person blowing smoke in my face in the car beside me. Plus I seen some pretty disgusting things.

I saw a mother smoking in the car when her baby was in the back, I also saw the same thing with another mother with small children were in the car, I mean it's fine by me if you want to kill yourself, but to harm your own childs life? I know not every mother is that stupid, but unfortunatly some are.

Are they that desperate, that they just can't wait until they get out of the car?

Now that I think of it, I saw a pregnant women smoking one day, if it wasn't for the fact that she was pregnant, I think I would have crashed tackled her for her stupidity XD

I guess this only applies in some places, but in Aust there have been issues where fires have been started because of irresponisble people, letting the ashes go outside the car - in some cases this has caused major bush fires.

There is know reason to punish people who smoke or at least make them pay a fine. On the other hand though they really shouldn't have the right to give you cancer. The thing that really gets to me is that people know how bad smoking is yet they still smoke. Then they can't figure out why they are in so bad of shape when they get older. I can see if you use other drugs although no one really should but at least you get something out of it. With smoking people say it calms their nerves when in truth they are becoming more nervous by smoking. Nothing good can come out of it unless you want to die early, and if your up for that then more power to you.
