![]() | Therapy I know this is a rather vague topic, but I'm interested in seeing other people's views on it. My first question- is do you think it really works? Every one has their own way of looking at things, and I don't really think that any therapist can just *snap* change your point of view on things. Do therapists actually have their way of changing the way you think, or is it purely psychosomatic on the ill person's part? As they say, hope is the medicine for all sicknesses.

![]() | Re: Therapy Yes I believe it can work but it is like anything else it takes effort and it takes a lot of time. no one can expect to get better in one session. it may take years. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Therapy Usually when something is expensive, it usually works well. So I would say that it does work, even though I have never been in therapy so I can't talk from experience. I talked to a therapist once over the phone when he called in about his bill, and they have problems too, let me tell ya. lol I kind of feel like a therapist sometimes because everyone calls me expecting me to take care of them and snap my fingers to make their problems disappear.

![]() | Re: Therapy It has no real impacting effect on me. Therapists always use the same droll questions like, "How does that make you feel?" and they say this as they cross their leg over their opposite lap. I just think it's so routine. So I see it as a scam, in it for the quick buck. They do, however have one dirty job...cleaning up piles among piles of balled up tissues filled with the tears and sorrows of the needy.

![]() ![]() | Re: Therapy Asking someone how they feel is an important step in the right direction, being able to talk about your problems sort of makes it easier to let them go. Eventually making it easier to get over your issues. If you keep issues all bottled up inside, you will never be able to think about anything else. Thats why I have a journal, so I can say everything that is on my mind, mostly the stuff that bothers me the most, so I can get over it and act like a normal human being.

They can try to help you process and accept things in your mind. Not everyone has a wise person like Hassun to give them advice, so they choose to get a therapist.
