Your joking right. People love killing themselves. They do it for a living, and to others. No label going to help anyone. Here you got the peer perssure, and the media telling you it's cool, if you don't smoke to much, and we have have that image of the cool person with a sig in his, or her's mouth. So no nothing can help with that.

Even if they took it off it wouldn't help, and the company will be sued. People know what they are getting into. They just close there eyes to it. And not that many want to live long.

I don't smoke, and I will never, but that label not whats stopping me. Comansence is!

All of you are reflecting my thoughts. This question was actually in my health book at school. I was curious of how people would react to this question. A label isn't going to stop you from doing something bad. Only you can decide that. But the label almost makes it more tempting as twisted as that may sound. It's like when your parents told you not to do something when you were a little kid. It just makes you want to do it more just to see if it is that bad.

I've looked around, and those warnings should have more of an effect, but they dont. People still smoke their lives away these days in the US. I'm sad to see it happen, and can't stand the 2nd hand at all.

Its not affective at all in my oppinion. People read it and still uses them. People are lectured about the cause of tabacco and still continue to use them. Almost everyone now is aware of the horrible effects tabacco can cause and lead to a person's health/life, but most still continue to use them.

i think it has some sort of impact, there are the people who care about their health enough not to smoke. of course it has no effect on the ones already smoking because they've got the addiction to the nicotine.

Re: Are Tobacco Warning Labels Effective?

Most of the students that attend my school take tobacco warning labels seriously, although a lot of times, the students will try tobacco just because it is more tempting. To me, I think that the warnings do nothing, because smokers obviously don't pay enough attention to see these warnings, or simply don't care about the chances of them getting cancer the next day and eventually dying. The warnings have obviously affected others, however, because many do not smoke because of the dangers that they are aware of and the causes that are evident with anyone who smokes.
