ok today im very pisseed because some group of gitls wanna come up to me out of nowhere and say you dont have the look your dismissed. my friend kyla and fylicia were going off while i stood there amazed at how those clones can be. they were pencil thin and had no color to there skin at all and had on hoochie wear. so they reminded me of the girls on mtv and bet and others television stations. all the gils on there are pencil thin and look gorgeous and the girls who look like that make fun of the girls who dont. my question is does todays pop media having a bad effect of good effect? thanks ao members

I Believe it can have a good and bad effect. For good, they might just Idolize the celebrities for the better and want to be like them. The bad is that they might be a bad type of celebrity.

i think its who you listen to or watch that sets the standerds in some schools or clciks if you will but the pop media doeas have a bad influince not a lot but some
becuase there are a few pop artitst's that actually make songs that have nothing to do with looking down on others . and for looks thats just a fad it will pass like a sunday on a cool sping morning of course this is just my opinon

I think the best example of this is from south park when all the girls idolised Paris Hilton.It can be good for a kid to idolise a celebraity(for example a young athlete admiring a sports star) or it can be a bad thing(girls idolising Paris Hilton for example)

The media is telling girls and guys (maybe) how they're suppose to look like, and everyone is falling for it. Its one thing to follow a trend but being obsess over it is another. A lot of people fails to see that some pictures have been edited with a computer so it is impossible to achieve, let say 'perfect' skin.

Can't blame media for the lack on intelligent that some people have in this world. If girls feels so insecure that the only thing they can follow or look up to is the media then you need get some self-esteem and self-confidence. No one should tell you how you are suppose to look. You have a choice.

tv medias and stuff just air those kind of things to help girls that arent good with fashion. to give them a chance to have that image to look good. which is a great thing. but for them to be mean and rude about other girls that arent. thats their own additude and their own fault. lol

I've always thought I was a bit old fashion with stuff like this. Clothes should serve their basic function, which is to keep us covered.
In regards to how the gals and guys are dressing I sort of feel, how would you say it... disappointed? It is just really sad how our society's morals are slowly being replaced in importance to sex. The Media plays off and encourages our primal feelings, all for profit.

Vote Big business! Strip mining the morality of our future in the name of profit! What could possibility go wrong?

Yeah i agree with the morals and the fact that if u not one of them u are nobody.Just to give u my idea i like the way i am and i get a lot of respects for what i do i don't try to be anything i am not and i don't wanna idiolise any of the pathetic drug abusers that some ppl call idols or supermodels or stuff like that.
I see alot of models on Tv watch Fashion tv with my Girl and sometimes it is just absolutely funny that the amount of see through clothes that is in fashion today.
I would not like my girl to walk in the streets where her see through blouse get the attention of unwanted ppl.[Lucky for me she feels the same]
U see this goes hand in hand with alot of things society can do without and that is the forming of clicks and lables.PPL think that when their parents makes good money that they are important too that is so funny u know they have done sqaut do earn the respect of anybody else but because of the status of their parents they are the ones abusing their popularity.I feel sorry for ppl like Paris Hilton she has not done a days work in her life and she is filthy rich.She will never have to work at all or even stress at the end of the month when the bills come but yeah some ppl are luckier than others and when it goes to their heads they make my blood boil..

well i think like the others said it can be good or bad.depends on the person and who they Idolize. i don't Idolize anyone i personly think it really stupid and pointless but everyone has their oppion.but i think as long as they stay healthy and not go all crazy with the media and what's in and out i don't really care.but to me i'm simple and i don't need alot of stuff to make me happy.
