My guess is yes, however the situation will determine what is correct. But hypothetically it is cheating.
Cheating! This is what you call cheating. Start the game over!

I would have to say it depends on the type of person you are...If you are type of person who will do anything to win then thats just a means to an end...because really in competition you are there to win.

Now if you are more like me and want to keep everything equal to make the competition fare, then the only choice would be to restart the game...because even if you don't intend to use the information...you still will.

Doing anything to win includes cheating. And it IS cheating.
Sometimes you can't help it (like when you unintentionally see someone elses cards in a game of poker) but it would still be cheating.

Also, please think of a better thread title, I'll change it.

Hassun has the point, it's considered as cheating even if it's done unintentionally.

I personaly try allways tell to other players in cardgames if I saw their cards
so that game can be restarted and played with evenly chances.

Love hurts...trust me I know, I really do...

I agree...but remember its all in the mind of who's doing it...One person's cheating is anothers advantage...I'm just saying people have different ethics and that defines there perception of what is and what is not cheating...

an example is someone who is playing poker may accidently see someone else's cards, but in their mind they may say hey...part of the game is keeping me from seeing your cards, they failed...and to that person it may not seem like cheating, where as to the rest of us it definitely is.

I'm just playing devil's advocate here

I think it would be considered 'cheating'.... if u have knowledge of whatever it is... or in Knights example the hand of cards, and then you decide to use that to ur own advantage than it is definitely cheating. uh..... thats all I got. LOL. ^_^

Cheating is a way of getting things right, but it is wrong.

    Re: Unintentional cheating?

if you know the answers by a way that you are not supposed to, and use that information, it's cheating. Even if you didn't want to look at the anwers, if you use that info, it's still cheating.
