in most religious texts the soul is just a tether from the spirit to the body.

i also refer to anyone so morally decrepit that all they do is smoke/drink/sex/drugs to be dead inside because the reason they no longer notice is that those things mess with the souls ability to tether your spirit and so you don't notice the negative affects on your body till it's too late..
this is what death means, right here.

In the Christen Faith the soul and the body are inseperibly tied. Death is seperation from God. With out God the body can not surive. I do not know about other Religions. For a christen physical destruction is not to be feared but to be looked forward too. The soul can not destoried for it is immortal, modeled after God.

    Re: what death means

The literal meaning of dead is "having lost life; no longer alive". Depending on what side you are on. If you are of a religious background being dead only means you are physically dead and that you will move on to the next life (e.g. heaven, hell, etc). As a science person, dead will take it's literal meaning.

    Re: what death means

death is when the soul leaves the physical world, leaving the body as a shell, so that the soul may be recycled, this is reincarnation.
Blackness covers all I see and all I touch. No feeling of pain, just sorrow. My hand loses grip of the sword I held. And I turn to become a true shadow.

    Re: what death means

death means finaly seeing what is at the end of that bright light everyone talks
about in those near death exeperinces . and having everyone that knew you
to come and view that empty shell of a body now.for me it would be like party
to celbrate my life when i was alive becuase morning over my death is pointless im
gone crying want bring me back. so party in my memorie thats what death means to me
I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and all your demons
I'll be the one to protect you from a will to survive and a voice of reason
I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and your choices son
They're one in the same, I must isolate you...
Isolate and save you from yourself
