Maturity is the ability to do what is right even though it may not always be what a person wants to do. This invloves taking on the responsibilities that life hands us and giving these or all no matter what the cost to ourselves. This is maturity in the mental sense. Maturity in the emotional sense is the ability to control ones emotions and knowing when to express those emotions at the right time without going crazy or being only driven by them. And everyone knows what maturity in the physical sense means...

What you just posted isn't really Maturity its more along the lines of Responsibility more or less. When your doing something right when you don't want to that means that since you don't want to do it. you haven't quite grasped the concept of maturity and are on the road of maturity

My aspect of it, is that many people consider themselves mature in many regards, however i see that many ppl think that doin the right thing is being mature and to me this is couldn't be further from the truth. Also many ppl say that i am very mature for my consider age. Also many ppl consider themselves as being mature, but thinking that you are mature proof proves that you are immature. Cause when i reflect when i was younger i believed that i was very mature, but now that i look back on it, i see how immature i really was.

Anyway, what is your opinion on being mature? Do you become more mature with age or is it like a skill that need to be developed?

I'm looking forward on ppl view about this topic.

As far as my opinion of maturity. i believe its all about the stage of thinking that is the basics. If you only think about one outcome of a situation you are probably not mature enough to understand.

So for being mature in my opinion, i don't know if anyone will agree but its when you are able to think of many out comes and choose which one is the best option to take. For with problem decisions its about being able to take the responcibility of what the out come will be and fully believing you made the right choice. So if you take riskes then you are mature because when you are young, you probably don't take the proper option because you are not able to handle the responcibility of the out come of your decision.

My simple definition of maturity is being able to balance your responsibilities and being able to handle yourself accordingly when situations occur. Its not just being responsible. Its also living in a way that shows you are responsible. For example, a person who stay out to 7 a.m. everyday and doesn't meet their deadlines doesn't look as mature as a person who does what is demanded of them on time and still manages to have fun.

From my point of view there is no such thing as going from "immature" to "mature." I believe that maturity is constantly changing in a person. Being a teenager right now, I would say I'm certainly more mature than I used to be over things such as spending my money wisely and acting on my own w/o parental aid. But when I'm say, 21-22, I will think of all the immature stuff I do right now. Then by the time I'm 30, my perspective of maturity will have evolved again. So as I said, maturity is an ongoing process and there is no line to cross over from being "immature" to "mature."

For me maturity is when u are...being your self, you will change at same time as you grow, when adults tells you, that you have to be more mature that is like telling you not to be your self, so i think the best way to be mature is to be your self!

Not actually, you see being yourself isn't always a good thing. Theres a time and place for everything and who's not to say that when your being yourself you can be offensive and just down right silly. so maybe thats maturity in you opinion but....not everyone else's.

Maturity is when you grow a long beard and moustache and everyone refers to you as "master" or "teacher" or "sensei", then like Mr. Miagi you are wise and patient as you teach young ones to wax your car, paint your fence in the name of learning Karate. Then you catch a fly with chopsticks and have forever good luck.

Maturity doesn't always have an age i have met many young kids around the age of 13 that are very mature for there age. so you dont have to be older to have maturity. just because your older doesn't mean your wise. because ive also met many immature older guys and they aren't all that bright.
