Who killed the Electric Car?
I would have to strongly argue that it's the oil companies and their owners that have killed the electric car.
Found an interesting YouTube video today regarding Electric Cars.
YouTube - Who Killed the Electric Car trailer
I quote an excerpt from the video:
Quote:
The electric vehicle is not for everybody. It can only meet the needs of 90% of the population.
So why is the electric car not in full production? Because the ones that control the oil (aka, the White House), realise that there is too much profit on the tables that would disappear should the electric car replace the gasoline car. The electric car produces no exhaust but will also erode to the profits of the oil companies.
So there you go, put the blame on the oil companies and the politicians.
Re: Who killed the Electric Car?
The blame has already been put to them not only for the electric car but also for the war. Half the reason we are over there is for the oil. Electric cars saved the environment not once did it pollute the ozone nor did it cause any problems nor alot of money. I would agree when you say it's the oil company and the politics fault.
Re: Who killed the Electric Car?
Great! That makes 2 of us that agree. This is an easy debate then.
An all electric car by Mitsubishi is due for production for 2010 release. About $19,000. NO ENGINE. electric motors on the wheels. But somehow, I don't quite believe it will come to fruition.
Re: Who killed the Electric Car?
There will also be a problem with Eletric cars to. I mean yes they are better but what if you are taking a long trip what are you to do then when your halfway down a road and you car stops? The same would go for solar powered cars and the sun what about at night? These are the questions that I am raising for this topic. I'm sorry to bring in the solar cars but I'm curious.

Well you would need a battery that charges in about the same time it takes to fill up a tank of gas.

So what are you saying to carry an extra battery around with you? Then you have the one battery that is dead and the one thatyou are using. What are you going to charge your other one with? I'm not saying I disagree but I'm just looking at all points because I already said I agreed about the cars.
Re: Who killed the Electric Car?
Simple. You have 2 batteries and you can charge the other battery at any convenience shop, restaurant or whatever that offers quick charge.
Anyway, I'm more interested to know if anyone doesn't blame the politicians. They are power and money hungry and will only look after themselves not the people they are elected to govern. This is highlighted by the death of the electric car.
Re: Who killed the Electric Car?
Politicans can careless what happens to us as long as they get paid. When the check gets messed with we have war in the politics. Hell when the twin towers were flown into Bush hid in a bunker. That was pitiful instead of helping he was hidding. He felt he was more important then the people and needed to be safeer then everyone else. When it was all over he came out of hidding and tries to act all big and bad. Now we are spending millions of dollars to fund the war in Iraq which I am sure more then half of it goes to the politics. As for power hungry they do not care what they do to ruin their competitions reputation as long as it is done and they get elected. Power hungry yes I'm just waiting for someone to be impeached. So that someone else can take their place.
