I'll say it again: The media is not lying to you. I don't see why you are hellbent in accusing the news of lying. The media's job is to report what's happening. We don't make up the news, the news happens and then we report it. If it weren't for the fact that there are so many negative things happening in the world right now, there wouldn't have to be negative spins on reporting.

Because there is more then one way to lie Eriadd. It's not enough to report the news. How it is reported can result in a lie even if all the "facts" are correct.

The problem lies (pardon the pun) in definition 2 & 7. How words are phrased will result in understanding as much or more then what is said. People who make a living with words understand that and write their facts in such a way to leave the impression they wish. That is a problem when they use their position to attempt #7, bringing about a effect based upon what they have said under #2.

It is a lie when you skew the reporting in an attempt to sway public opinion so that things will happen the way you want them to even when it means misrepresenting or ignoreing facts.


Add that to the fact that there are certain news agencies who have shown more then once their loyalty to lies that afirm their bias even when they know them to be false and yes, the media lies. That is why it is so important to get your news from multiple sources and refer to original sources whenever possible.

Haha, i remember my friend telling me he was watching a CNN story about a baby getting rip to pieces by hyenas and decided that was too good to be true. So he decided to look it up, and what do you know. No other news station ever mention the news headline that CNN was talking about. Just goes to telling you, you shouldn't believe everything you hear or see, especially from CNN. Which pretty much goes back to Arrianna's point in the previous post.

Also, the media sometimes lies so it can gather viewers for what ever reason. Believe it or not thats their job and they are good at it.
