Thread: Would life be better without pleasurable reproduction?

Unpleasurable coitus... Well, for one thing, I bet all the cases of rape would definitely go down. But if I'm not mistaken, the plasure in sex brings couples closer, doesn't it? And then, whole entire industries and corporations would probably not exist (or struggle to exist), which may or may not be a bad thing... *cough cough*

The quality of Boys Love games and other adult Visual Novels (correct term in Japan is "Adventure Games" but that means an entirely different thing in western culture) would definitely go down from what it is now if sex weren't pleasurable, lol.

There are some good and bad points to this. The cases of rape/molestation would definitely go down, as a lot of people are saying. However..To put it in a a more humorous way, I have come up with 2 equations.
Sex + Pleasure = Offspring
Sex - Pleasure = Much Less Offspring
And eventually, the entire human species would be wiped out if there were to be no pleasurable sexual intercourse.

Living in the times that we do, humanity would find another way around it. Trust me.

We're so greedy and intelligent at the same time, the only thing that would stop us from finding another way to pleasure ourselves would have to be another meteorite collision with Earth causing the extinction of humanity.

Just because something is unenjoyable, painful even, does not in any way mean that it would be less of a possibility to exist.

Although what you say is true about "enjoyability", People cut themselves, and I don't see howthat's fun.

It does make sense in a crazy way that if sex was not pleasurable there just might be less sex offenders and what not but also true enough problems arise. If reproduction was not pleasurable would people be just as likely to have kids? Would people's family lines diminish sooner because they were not as reluctant to have children?
